Attacks By Boko Haram Have Reduced In Nigeria, Says Buhari - ThisDay by Nobody: 4:57pm On Oct 15, 2015
Despite the recent bomb blasts in Abuja and some states in the North-east, President Muhammadu Buhari has said he remained fully confident that by the end of this year, Boko Haram’s ability to attack, seize, ravage and hold any Nigerian territory will have been completely obliterated.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the president spoke when he met with the Commander of United States Africa Command, Gen David Rodriguez.

Buhari said with greater support from his administration in terms of improved training, equipment, logistics and welfare, the Nigerian Armed Forces were well positioned to meet the December deadline which he gave to them to end the Boko Haram insurgency.

The president seized the opportunity of Rodriquez’s visit to restate his appreciation of the US support for Nigeria’s efforts to overcome terrorism and insurgency.

Buhari said: “We must thank the United States of America for sending training teams and equipment to us. The positive results of our collaboration are evident.

“Structured attacks by the insurgents have reduced and by the end of the year, we should see the final routing of Boko Haram as an organised fighting force.”
Buhari however, appealed for greater cooperation from the US in securing the Gulf of Guinea through which stolen Nigerian crude oil was shipped abroad.

The president said Nigeria had suffered severe revenue losses from crude oil theft and reinstated his administration’s determination to end the criminal practice.

However, the president said Nigeria would welcome more support from the international community in this regard.

Rodriguez said he was in the country to strengthen Nigeria/United States military relations, and also explore further options for assisting the Multinational Joint Task Force established by Nigeria and her neighbours, to fight Boko Haram.

People who still suffer from the impact of their terror activities will not agree with you, Mr President.
We want Boko Haram to end soon enough. I believe you're capable enough to see to that.

I bet we can tell the relatives of those who lost their loved ones in recent attacks that they were not killed by Boko Haram's "structured attacks". I'm very sure it will make sense to them. undecided undecided

Though we want nothing less than a total elimination of those barbarians, their attacks have actually reduced from what used to be the usual occurence in the GEJ days. There has been some relative calmness and stability in the affected areas.

I see Nigeria don't need international help to combat insurgents any longer, every help is needed now in securing 'crude oil.' Surely, securing the crude oil is now more important than securing the lives of the citizens. undecided undecided

I supposed the attacks that have taken the lives of over 2000 Nigerians since May are unstructured!!! But BABA we need you to take care of both the structured and unstructured attacks!!! This was exactly your promise during the elections

Perhaps the president should explain what he means by 'structured attacks' because in recent times we have seen wave upon wave of both structured and unstructured attacks with both military and civilian casualties.
Maybe he meant to say that reportage of boko haram activities by the media has reduced in Nigeria, that will be a more plausible statement.

Buhari said: “We must thank the United States of America for sending training teams and equipment to us. The positive results of our collaboration are evident.

Does the positive result include the twin attacks in Abuja, and the several attacks in Maiduguri, Chibok (agian), and recently Kogi? Or is the positive result the piling dead bodies, sorrows, tears and blood, left by the these blood thirsty insurgents?

Anyone who want to talk about positive results should start by showing us the head of Shekau on a platter, and smiling pictures of our dear Chibok girls!

The duara dullard should try another lie. This one is Dead On Arrival (DOA).

Is this particular action and statement alike with the nomination and withdrawal of a ministerial nominee?

May our president not be said to be unstable-minded.
