just call him around 10am in the morning and inform him that you are just coming back from the hospital after an appointment with the doctor and you have news for him when he closes from work in the evening (refuse point blank to tell him any info on the phone)
To avoiding being dumped or better still getting a black eye, after making the poor guy sweat for nothing all through the day, just inform him in the evening that your doctor gave you a clean bill of health and that what you are excited about or else......
