MASSOB threatens to to shut down Anambra over arrest of members
Nnewi—The Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has given the military in Anambra State 48 hours within which to release five of its members allegedly arrested yesterday in various locations in the state.
The regional administrator of MASSOB in charge of Nnewi South Local government Area, Mr. Tony Nwodo gave the ultimatum while addressing members during an em- ergency meeting and concluded that they “will shut down Anambra State if the five arrested members are not released within 48 hours.” Mr. Nwodo named those arrested as MASSOB Utu Area Administrator- Eugene Odoh, and other members of the group who include Friday Nwoye, Sunday Amaechi, Chuma Okonkwo and Ebuka Okolo. “Eugene Odoh was picked from his shop at No. 2, Chukwurah Street, off Awka Road, Onitsha, this evening. “They stormed his shop with six Hilux pick-up vans and a Sienna bus. They ransacked his shop and made away with some money. “They also made away with valuables. His where about and that of four others are yet unknown. The four others were picked from their homes and on the road without any offence.” “We will not take this if they are not released after 48 hours, we will show the military the stuff we are made of, the fact that we are a non violent body fighting to actualize a sovereign state of Biafra does not mean we will be taken for granted, we have other non violent ways of dealing with violent people like the military are proving to be to our members” he said. He said the Utu Area administrator the Military arrested is a peace- maker and was given a traditional title of ‘Nchuanwu Ndigbo (Preventer of Sun for Ndigbo) . Meanwhile, palpable fear of uncertainty has reportedly gripped the residents of Onitsha over the heavy Presence of both the military and Police personnel who patrol the major roads for three consecutive days now. |

It is very sad when I read comments gloating over the misfortune of Igbo people. If only we can learn from history. It is the emasculation of the Serbs by Austro/Hungary that created the conditions which lead to the 1st world war after the assassination of Austro/Hungary Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand by Serbian terrorists while on a visit to Bosnia. 15,000,000 people lost their lives in the first world way. Emasculation of Germany created room for an extreme nationalistic zeal centered around Hitler. Conflict in Nigeria has already happened in the thought plane only waiting for a physical manifestation. The devil and his minions have almost succeeded having planted their agents in positions of power. It is left for men of good will to ensure that this does not happen. We can avert a major conflict by insisting that the right thing be done. Let all parts of Nigeria be treated fairly. 5 Likes 1 Share |

The terrorist state of Nigeria and its jack booted thugs called the Nigerian police. If it was Boko Haram, would they storm the place with Hilux vans? But as soon as they realise they are dealing with unarmed civilians, that's where they show their bravado. All in a vain attempt to keep the British contraption called Nigeria one. |

All these small boys agitating for war, i think they are still a learner. If you want to know what war is like in our modern era, take a cursory look at SYRIA--though they are fighting some jihadist groups which we could say is a civil war. It will take Syria hundreds of years to build up their country-- population, economy and infrastructure. So, are these EDUCATED ILLITERATEs agitating for war should know that it will take them years to rebuild any destroyed/burnt/bombed assets?? Omololu007: please can you tell me how the ibos are not treated fairly in Nigeria? Gowon said that Nigerians should be proud of the gains of the war through the healing balm of “no victor, no vanquished.” According to him, the three Rs of reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction were adopted to enhance national unity. He also argued that the abandonment of the development plan drafted immediately after the war by successive governments, resulted in the infrastructural decay in the country. The former head of state, however, lauded Ojukwu for his courage in defending his people during the war, saying: “if Ojukwu were in my shoes, he would have equally waged the war.” He also commended the Anambra government and management of the university for honouring Ojukwu with the change in name of the institution from Anambra State University to COOU. https://www.nairaland.com/2440061/igbo-president-heal-civil-war xtrorse: OCEANS OF BLOOD AND THE POWER OF TRUTH by Femi Fani-Kayode
"The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it but in the end, there it is" - Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of Great Britain (1940-1945 and 1951-1955)
Nothing empowers the spirit more than the truth. Nothing warms the soul more than the truth. Nothing dispels the darkness more than the truth. Nothing emboldens the noble more than the truth. Nothing sheds the light more than the truth. Nothing enlightens the ignorant more than the truth. Nothing frees the enslaved more than the truth. Nothing liberates the mind more than the truth.
Nothing purges the evil more than the truth. Nothing hurts the vile more than the truth. Nothing troubles the murderous more than the truth. Nothing exposes the reprobate more than the truth. Nothing burns the slanderer more than the truth.
Nothing chains the liar more than the truth. Nothing heals the wounded more than the truth. Nothing brings the peace more than the truth. Nothing torments the oppressor more than the truth. Nothing haunts the wicked more than the truth. Nothing punishes the tyrant more than the truth. Nothing humiliates the proud more than the truth. Nothing restores our hope more than the truth. Nothing serves justice more than the truth. Nothing delivers the captive more than the truth. As Churchill said, ‘’the truth is incontrovertible’’. It is overwhelming and it is irresistible. It is powerful and it is beautiful.
It cannot be destroyed. It cannot be denied. It cannot be suppressed. It is eternal. It will always be revealed at the appointed time. It may be ignored for a season but it will eventually resurface to torment the deceiver.
With truth comes the opportunity to repent and to forgive. With truth comes justice, healing, peace, love, restoration, reconciliation, reparation, redemption and the chance for new beginnings. Without truth there can be none of these blessings or virtues: only darkness, deceit, ugliness, suspicion, hate, carnage, violence and the enthronement and celebration of bitter and wretched souls. Without truth evil goes from strength to strength. Without truth the wicked crush innocent souls. Without truth the oppressor continues to thrive and flourish but with truth the righteous rise and reach the top. Without truth nations wither and perish but with truth they prosper and excel.
Yet what truth resides in our beleagured country? A country that feeds fat on lies and revels in deceit. A country that refuses to teach its children our history in order to cover up the many wrongs and injustices of the past. A country whose elders refer to the oppressed and disillusioned as desperate ''miscreants''. A country whose leaders refer to those that seek to enforce their legitimate rights as ''money-loving drug dealers and skilful scammers''.
A country that cannot make a distinction between those that seek to peacefully exercise their right of self-determination and those that terrorise, kill and maim others in an attempt to impose their faith. There are many truths that the Nigerian people will have to come to terms with before our nation can be at peace with itself.
An ocean of blood has been shed in the name of a united Nigeria yet the perpetrators of state-sponsored violence have never been brought to book. Many souls have been wasted in trying to keep us one. How much more blood has to flow before those that have ruled us from time immemorial accept the fact that nations cannot be established by subjugation and tyranny but only by justice, equity, truth, equal rights and consensus.
The truth of the Jos massacre in 1945 where hundreds were slaughtered cannot be denied. The truth of the Kano riots in 1953 where thousands were butchered cannot be denied. The truth of the pogroms in the north in 1966 where hundreds of thousands were killed cannot be denied. The truth of the slaughter of millions of innocent civilians, women and children between 1967 and 1969 during the Nigerian civil war cannot be denied.
The truth of the Asaba massacre in 1969 where 1000 little boys and old men were rounded up in the town square and shot in the head cannot be denied. The truth of the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Christians and ethnic minorities all over the north and particularly in the Middle Belt throughout the 80’s and 90’s cannot be denied. The truth of political sharia with its attendant violence, trauma, blood-letting and butchery from 2000-2003 in the far north cannot be denied.
The bitter truth of Boko Haram and the relentless slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent Nigerians by Islamic fundamentalists in northern Nigeria from 2009 up until today cannot be denied. The truth of the murder of dozens of young youth corpers and hundreds of other people in the far north in 2011 cannot be denied. The truth of the brutal slaughter of innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen over the last 20 years and up until today cannot be denied. O Nigerians, who has bewitched thee? Why do we hate truth and those that speak it with such passion? Like the ostrich, we have buried our heads in the sand and we act as if these things never happened. We refuse to acknowledge the evil within us and we refuse to honor the dead by atoning for our sins and calling for retribution and justice.
These horrendous events cannot be denied and neither shall they ever be forgotten. The blood of the innocents that were slaughtered by these relentless Huns speaks through the ages and from generation to generation. That blood cries out to God in heaven and it calls for vengeance. It is time for justice to be done. It is time for those that consistently kill and shed blood in their ignoble quest to rule us forever to be brought to book. It is time for the Tutsis of Nigeria to be brought to heel. It is time for those that starved millions of little children to death in the name of crushing Biafra to be exposed.
It is time that those who seek to play down these events and who seek to cover up their complicity in genocide be called out and shamed. It is time that some of our elders and so-called leaders are sent to the International Criminal Court for genocide and murder and for crimes against humanity. It is time to rediscover our humanity. It is time for the ancient leaders and guardians of the Nigerian state to admit that they have built our so-called unity on nothing but murder, carnage and the blood, guts and bones of millions of slaughtered innocents.
It is time for them to apologies to the Nigerian people for their insufferable conspiracy of silence and their insatiable greed. It is time for them to tell the truth about our blood-soaked and frightful history, to confess their sins, to kneel down before the Ancient of Days and to beg Him for forgiveness. It is time for them to start fearing the Lord of Hosts, to stop hating the messenger and to start dealing with the message TheOnlyWiseMan: I am not Igbo. I am proud of my Urhobo. However, as a stdent of history, I wish to show just what these great people came/come against and yet thrive.
Okay, the incessant killings in the North will be glossed over so as to make this article not overly long. The civil war will also not be discussed.
However, post civil war, as I explained in my post MINORITY REPORT: THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED AGAINST YOU, the rich in Nigeria have major roots in the Indegenization decree of 1972 and 1977. I reminded how the banks gave people of other tribes, predominantly Hausas and Yorubas loans to by up companies owned by foreigners. Now imagine the Federal government forced Chevron to sell 51 percent of its shares and that Access Bank will give you loans to buy the shares. How rich will you be in a year? 5 Years? That is how many Yorubas and Hausas got to own UAC, all those Dunlop, Leventis, Cadbury etc.
Now while this was ongoing, Gowon told the Nigerian banks to give TOPS twenty naira to any Igbo man that had money in the bank before the war. That is, if you had 5 naira before the war, you will be given the 5 naira. But if you had a hundred naira, you get just twenty naira in full fulfilment of the banks duty to give you your money.
Ask yourselves “why would the banks give Igbos only twenty naira? Did the banks collapse? So why pay less than you were given?
So while the banks were giving loans to Hausa and Yorubas to buy Oyibo companies they did not build, Igbos were being cheated out of their rightful moneys.
Now not also that these people lost Houses and business across the land. It is safe to say that as at 1970/71. the richest Igbo had 20 naira that may be the equivalent of maybe one million.
Let us lok at how Dangote made his money. He Dagote (a great man and pride to Nigeria) has an uncle called Dantata who owned huge chunks of the groundnut pyramids of the 50’s and 60’s. He gave Dangte a loan and Dangote paid it back in record time. CLAP CLAP. The add that Dangote has had his “brothers” in government, from IBB to Abacha and Abdulsalaam. When they now agreed to democracy, he was rich enough to have funded Obasanjo and so government policies, be it monopoly afforded him for rice, sugar flour and of course a large share of subsidy etc ensures he is the wealthiest Nigerian. (note many had same opportunity but did not use it. We kowtow to Dangote’s investment capabilities)
However, for the Igbo man, where will he see an uncle that will loan him money? The richest man in their family has how much as at then? So while Fani Kayode can inherit property of his father and grandfather and great grand father, a Chidi Cali cannot inherit anything from his grandfather who had business in Kano or even Port Harcourt. Neighbours have made his dad’s storey building theirs, and even someone as educated as Saro Wiwa lived in an Igbo war emigrant house as his. (a sore point of the Niger Delta and Igbo Unity) WAEC building was Ojukwu’s dad’s building and like that building, thousands and the land with it….lands worth billions today were taken from Igbos and each and everyIgbo had tops 20 naira, destroyed homeland, stolen and destroyed wealth away from the east. ALso his brother is never president that will give him oil block or fuel lifting. Of 33, only one Igbo man and because he was in Obasanjo’s good graces.
YET LOOK HOW PROUD THEY STAND TODAY!!! Look what they have achieved for themselves….FIRST GENERATION WEALTH…top second generation. From being unable to send their first sons to school so he could help look after the shop, to producing first class brains in all departments of modern learning.
So today, as you accuse Igbos of wanting their Biafra or of Baby Factory, or liking money and ready to do anything for money, remember that just forty years ago, while the banks were dashing your uncles loans to buy all the companies of Nigeria, it stole from the Igbos. Know that appointments have not favoured them. Note that they remain persecuted and many speak such ill and hate twoards a people forced by need to survive to be extra-aggressive towards their sustenance. Maybe if you took their history into consideration, you will not be so critical of them, but instead say “what a resilient people” and give God the glory that FOR NOW, we and such a great people are compatriots.
Igbo Kwenu.
