AND DO YOU THINK THAT I AM IN THE MOOD OR MODE TO DEBATE WITH YOU?

IGNORANCE IS BLISS

Rossikk:

What do you mean by ''infrastructurally more developed''? They barely have TWO cities there!!! Even those two cities - Accra and Kumasi, are mediocre by African standards. I mean, this is ridiculous. Their rural areas are LESS developed than Nigerian rural areas. Leave those two cities and it's mud huts and footpaths galore. Abegi.. You guys go to Ghana and stay in Accra and come back with ''Ghana is better than Nigeria!!!'' Someone can equally come to Abuja and stay a year, and return to his country, singing Nigeria's praises to high heavens - ''Nigeria is better than paradise!!!''.

How on earth can a useless underdeveloped country like nigeria be developed than Ghana? Even for the fact that millions of nigerians are trooping to Ghana like refugees should tell you that nigeria is nowhere near Ghana.
Let me put some sense into your boko head.
nigeria is about 5 times bigger than Ghana in terms of land mass so why won't you have MORE roads, universities, airports, seaports and all the nonsense you made mention of?
But ask yourself if your universities are better that Ghana's universities. Its a BIG NO.GHANA UNIVERSITIES ranked far ahead of nigerian universities.
Secondly,Are your roads better than Ghana roads? ITS,A BIG NO!!! Most part of Ghana are tared with no potholes. Can that be said about nigeria?
There's no way you can compare so called nigerian cities to modernized well planned Ghana cities.
I need not to even go further.
You should be comparing your county with Somalia and the likes not Almighty GHANA because Ghana is not in the league of useless countries like nigeria
Rossikk:

But Nigeria is more developed than Ghana. So what are you talking about? We have more roads, more airports, more functional seaports, more universities, more cities, more expressways, more industries, more factories, far larger IT and automative sectors, more rich people, a much larger middle class than Ghana's. A middle class that is at least 3 times the entire Ghanaian population. A much larger GDP (both per capita and gross). https://www.google.co.uk/#q=ghana+gdp

So what are you talking about?
Re: Common Lies Nigerians Tell Themselves About Nigeria. by OXYGEN01: 9:35pm On Nov 10, 2015
And apart from lagos is there any recognized city in nigeria? Its only in nigeria where overpopulated towns and villages are called cities. Shameful beings.Travel outta that zoo for once and your sense of reasoning will never be the sane

That Nigeria was once a great a country – It is common to hear Nigerian’s make statements like “our country will be great again”. This comment is quite delusional.
Nigeria, to the best of my knowledge has never been a great country. You may try to pass of some of our characteristics like population, ethnicity or the fact that we used to have groundnut pyramids in the past as greatness but reasonably, these things don’t make you great.
Examples of countries that were great are China and Argentina. They were both known to be highly prosperous countries in the past and unfortunately lost their prosperity as time went by.
Nigeria has never been known to be a prosperous country since its independence till date.

That Nigeria is a rich country: This is another unfounded untruth that is perpetuated by some ignorant Nigerians.
The “GDP per capita” is the standard used in measuring how rich a country is. Nigeria’s GDP per capita currently stands at 3000 dollars. This makes Nigeria a low income country and one of the poorest countries in the world.

That Nigeria is more developed than most countries in Africa: Some Nigerians who have never been beyond the boundaries of Lagos and Abuja would think there are fewer places in Africa that are better than these places (and Nigeria as a whole) in terms of infrastructure and economic development.
Recent ratings from the World Economic Forum’s global competitiveness report shows that even in West Africa, certain countries like Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Cape Verde and Senegal all have better infrastructure ratings than Nigeria.
Honestly speaking, Nigerians have a myopic view as to what true socio-economic growth and development entails. Seeing private jets and luxurious cars as development while majority of the populace cannot afford beyond the basic necessities of life isn’t development.

That Nigeria would develop and be great:
Although we can’t predict the future, we can judge from history and the current state of affairs to project what the future would look like.
The possibility of Nigeria becoming great with its current structures, constitution and institutions is very slim.
The current socio-political and economic regime that perpetuates greed, rent-seeking, injustice and laziness will not get this country where is plans to be.
Until we begin to call for a structural and systemic change, Nigeria may not witness any progress in the long-run.

You have no shame. Look at you. A country of only 20 million people. You have gold - 2nd in Africa after SA. You have oil and gas. You have cocoa. You have bauxite. I'm sure you even have diamonds. Simple logic suggests that, like Singapore to China, you should be enjoying a far higher standard of living than Nigeria, with her 175 million mouths to feed. Yet Ghana still suffers from mass poverty, power cuts, bad roads, and rural deprivation. You should be on the Ghana forum asking where all the money has gone.

Nigerians are NOT ''trooping en masse'' to go anywhere. Stop exaggerating. How many universities are there in Ghana for us to ''troop'' to? 1? 2?

We have a huge population who love education, so our universities are inadequate in number to cater for all of them at present. So naturally, Nigerians will go to countries where there is spare capacity, like Ghana. Nothing wrong in that. Millions of Chinese and Indians travel overseas to study. Doesn't mean their countries aren't developing.

That Nigeria was once a great country I think right up after independence ,Nigeria was doing great. The currency was at par with the British pounds, A brand new car was sold between #4000 and we could produce our own steel and agricultural products . Peugeot was assembling here as well as many foreign manufacturing brands. Nigeria was so powerful she actually nationalised several British firms and companies including Barkleys bank in the fight for apartheid south Africa .

By 1976, only the white controlled apartheid south Africa was more influential and powerful than Nigeria.

Oh.....and China just found its greatness some decades ago, that country has always been very poor and under developed

That Nigeria is a rich country
Nigeria is a middle income country. Even at $3000 GDP per Capita.

You cannot tell us that the 23rd largest economy of the world is a low income country http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/datablog/2014/apr/07/nigeria-becomes-africa-largest-economy-get-data

That Nigeria is more Developed than most countries in africa
Nigeria is actually ranked 3rd in technological development in the 53 countries of Africa.

So yes we're more developed than most countries in Africa http://answersafrica.com/top-10-most-technologically-advanced-countries-in-africa.html/2

That Nigeria will develop and be great again

Well many international economist have indicated that Nigeria will be amongst the top 10 economies of the world by 2030. Pushing out great Britain and France off the mark. By the ISS report , Nigeria will be the only African country with a super power status globally .

http://www.pwc.com/ng/en/press-room/the-world-by-2050.html

A country where majority of its people have lost the true value and meaning of being a human being, even if it was great once upon a time, can never be again.

How many people 45 years and under, in this country can mention at least 5 good things about the country? The other day, a young man was reprimanded for complaining about the incessant power outage, by an older man, who said "what else is new adapt to it".

The only people who seem to be benefitting from Nigeria are the politicians, top brass in the military, oil bloc allottees, the bank MDs, the religious leaders and maybe a few musicians. If you're not in this category, you need to critically evaluate if your children will have a better life or worse than what you experienced. If no, find your way out of that country - the responsibility of every preceding generation is to lay the foundations for a better life for the next generation. This unfortunately is not what Nigerian leaders are about...
