INEC for this one spot one, it mat not be a perfect decision for all parties concerned but then time is not on their side, elections have been conducted (though inconclusive) and it's only the courts that can declare an outright cancellation. It's also been established that it is the party that wins the election and not the individual and so the request for the APC to fill the void created by the death of Audi is also commendable in my estimation. |

omolami: Just like someone earlier asked, if the PDP is leading in an Election of about 500,000 registered voters and a candidate of a small Party dies who has recorded just 1,000 votes and there's still a supplementary Election ahead, would you expect INEC to call off the Election and order for a fresh one? Wouldn't you oppose that decision? Whatever they do today would be noted down be Observers so as to avoid such issues whenever it arises. 2 Likes |

a well thought out political calculation for APC field a popular candidate that could at least win 40percent of vote in the affected 90polling units as the deputy and let audu running mate be the governor just think out loud |

Please permit me to say your opinion that votes are been recorded or cast solely for political parties ,not the candidate is totally against my school thought..In as much as the votes counts for a political party same way it does for the flag bearer or the candidature of the political party. Take for instance, a political party propagandas is not enough reason to win an election with out a censored or competent candidate with great zest of leadership, who the masses believes can lead them forward without any political blunder and ambiguity. Thus presenting a social miscreant with proficient lack of integrity will never guarantee success to that party in spite of the rich and fertile propagandas of the party. Hence the candidate or a flag bearer of a party has more role to play in the electoral system than the party itself. DropShot: 1 Like |

NgeneUkwenu:All you think and cry everyday is igbo and Biafra. Hope you have not caught the disease known as IGBOLYSIS: a diseas of constant fear of the igbo greatness, thereby developing inferiority complex where ever you. One of the biggest symptons is WAILING about the igbos even when something is not related to the igbos. All you think everyday is igbo. To open nairaland igbo, your husband slapped you, igbo. You couldnt graduate from poly igbo. Others are: Your fathers land was bought, most of your neigbourhood houses are own by them, they take over your village and city market, you as indegines are poorer than them as "stragers", they are grabbers and take over from their employers as ahmadu bello said, they scattered every where reaping and taking advantages of their lazy hosts. IGBOLYSIS can kill faster than cancer. Lol 3 Likes |

donphilopus: Oh boy forget that! On a normal setting, it is very hard to remove any governor through impeachment! Especially when the party control both the Centre and The state! Forget about all those Igara Noise, We saw it in Adamawa, (Christain) Kaduna(Christain), Yardua Vs Jonathan! Nothing will happen! James Fayeke Should naturally be the Candidate! There is no case here! 2 Likes |

Martyr601:So you think the election should be done all over? In dat case, your argument should apply to when an elected govr dies b4 taking oath of office whereas the constitution allows his deputy to be sworn in. 1 Like |

The military led by Nzeogwu in cahort with Ironsi down to Babangida did a lot of irreparable damage to Nigeria democracy. This is one of the issues that our democracy would have been tested on long time ago. |

donphilopus: This is simply a poor assessment. He may not last 6 months? How? Why is everything do or die in Africa. Do Igalas own Kogi? Where is the constitutional justification for impeaching someone because they are not from your tribe And, if APC choose Faleke, that means Tinubu has imposed him on Kogi abi? 1 Like 1 Share |

PRYCE: sorry but did anybody (party or inec) take the matter to the supreme Court for Determination so in. that case INEC has the right to make a decision. if any of the parties are against it then they should go to court. |

Re: Kogi State Election Public Notice Coming From INEC by edogirl2: 5:36pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
Trioxocarbonate: It's up to APC. If they ask Faleke to step in, so be it, and nothing will happen. It just seem very indecent to say that people from a certain part of a state must never accede to the position of Governor of their state. As Africans, where is our decency and respect for others who might be less opportuned than us. Once we are bigger than others, we try to vanquish their rights as if they dont exist. Why? |
Re: Kogi State Election Public Notice Coming From INEC by jaymichael(m): 5:39pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
chiddye:The election is done and dusted. APC leads by 41,000 while the electoral register of the affected areas is 49,000. Note, not all the electorates will have their PVC. Even if APC supporters don't vote on that day, there is no way PDP can breach the gap as those that are likely to vote will not even be up to the difference that the APC is leading the PDP with. |

Martyr601: it's never about your school of thought, the Supreme Court already laid that to rest in the case of Amaechi vs Omehia, Omehia actually ran for the election and won it for PDP but the Supreme Court held that Amaechi that didn't even contest the election should benefit from the victory of PDP made possible by Omehia |
