Nigeria, the supposed “GIANT OF AFRICA”, has been recurrently battling challenges with Fuel Supply and the most recent fuel scarcity in the country which has lingered for over 3 weeks now has left the average Nigerian in an incorrigible state.
The very important question that Nigerians are asking is what is President Muhammadu Buhari doing to salvage the situation? Ever since President Buhari assumed office on the 29th of May, there has been a downturn in the country.

President Buhari had made himself the Minister of Petroleum Resources but does not seem to be bothered about the fact that millions of people are suffering over this fuel scarcity.

All Nigerians have gotten is talk, talk, talk, and talk but we await action, action, and more action. President Buhari had promised Nigerians that he will hit the ground running but all we can see is that he hit the ground crawling.

The minimum wage in Nigeria currently stands at N18,000 of which Governors in Nigeria are said to be contemplating reducing it (that is another story entirely) and yet people are surprised to hear of robberies every day. What is the common man expected to do?

Transportation fees have doubled and we cannot hold the transporters accountable because of the ridiculous amount of money that they pay to get fuel not to mention the stress involved. People stay on queues for hours daily just to get fuel and we are supposed to be an oil producing nation! Honestly, I weep for Nigeria.

Just a few weeks ago, the pump price of fuel in Nigeria was N87/litre but for over 14 days now the pump price for at least 80% of petrol stations in the South of Nigeria stands at N170/litre.

Again what is President Buhari doing as the fuel scarcity continues to deteriorate?

NIGERIANS REACT TO FUEL SCARCITY

Nigerians have now taken to social media to vent their frustration after some Senators under the All Progressives Congress (APC) thwarted a move by another Senator under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) requesting that President Buhari as the Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources be summoned to the Senate to explain why the fuel scarcity has lingered for this long with no visible solution in sight. Below are some reactions from Nigerians on twitter using the hashtag Fuel Scarcity (#fuelscarcity)…

At this point, the only option we have as Nigerians to pray for divine intervention because as humans words fail us. May God help Nigeria!!!
