I do not have maths credit but pass. .. So I support the governor. Depending on your course of study, neither should be compulsory. |

Holyfield1:. The only thing pathetic is the fact that he fails maths, it shows he isnt that bright afterall. Any body anticipating to make it in life should at least know the basic maths. No one is saying u must have A1, but at least credit it, so tht if we make u a minister tomorrow (for instance) u wont be looking lost when u r sent on international conferences or meetings where issues concerning the nation's economy is being discussed & u cant make contributions on issues like: inflation, GDP growth, budget deficit etc |

Okorohausa should stop sermonizing and think of how to generate jobs for the teaming unemployed youths. What's the essence of acquiring the degree when the future is bleak because of unemployment. |

LadyExcellency:. They wont be earning anything because they wont get hired in the first place, if they cant type their CV correctly or express themselves properly during an interview. Even if you do get one through dubious means, you will loose the trust/confidence of your clients/ customers, because..come on..if you go to a hospital & the doctor says..'Madam brought your baby here make i injection am', will u even go near that type of 'doctor'? If you are honest with yourself you know you wont 1 Like |

Sunshinelady: Comprehend my argument. Mathematics should be compulsory for Medicine, Sciences and Engineering while English Language should be compulsory for Lawyers, Mass Communication and linguistic students |
Re: Don’t Make English, Maths Compulsory For Students Seeking Admission – Okorocha by Sunshinelady(f): 8:27pm On Nov 29, 2015 |
LadyExcellency:. English is our Lingua Franca & should be compulsory for all even if your studying 'sign language studies' (lol). I dont want my kids going to school to have a maths teacher teach them in pidgin or vernacular. Why should i settle for mediocrity if I can have the best? 1 Like |

LadyExcellency: A student who can score high grades in other subjects and can not obtain credit in English and mathematics is not brilliant enough for university education. There is stiff competition for admission into our universities therefore there is no need to lower the entry barrier 1 Like |

Re: Don’t Make English, Maths Compulsory For Students Seeking Admission – Okorocha by Agukagu(m): 8:49pm On Nov 29, 2015 |
LadyExcellency: Quote me anywhere. There is no student of that level of IQ that can not score a credit in English. Did he write the exams on those other subjects in vernacular? Credit score is not too much to ask for from UME candidates. University education is not meant for average students. Quota system and admission sharp practices are destroying our tertiary education by allowing dim wits into our citadels. 1 Like |
