Former Managing Director of the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, PPMC, Haruna Momoh, who has constantly come under fire from major oil barons and cabals in Nigeria, has threatened legal action against spin doctors for attacks on his integrity.

A source close to the family revealed that he is fed up with the forces who are hell bent on denting his image and have parroted false accusations about him and his family.

Momoh has since come under attacks because of his dogged approach in stamping out corruption in the Kerosene scam, a racket by some top oil marketers used to milk the country dry. On account of this, spin doctors have been used for false image laundering about him, especially since the former President, Goodluck Jonathan lost his re-election bid in March 2015.

Some PPMC insiders say Huruna’s tenure was based on the mantra of “demystifying the racket in kerosene subsidy scam.”

Amongst those mentioned in this campaign is Forte Oil chairman, Femi Otedola who upon investigation has renewed his attacks of false corruption allegations against Momoh and his family for standing as a stumbling block against him in the industry.
BBC correspondent Sam Piranty falsely reported sighting Momoh at the Charring Cross Police station in London, as security operatives quizzed the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

However few days later, facts revealed that the BBC reporter’s account was only a ploy against the former PPMC boss, and he tendered an apology to the Momoh family.

Following this, reports have also been circulated purportedly alleging that Momoh and Diezani had both fallen out, this according to a close source was expected to create heightened tension and reports of alleged returned stolen funds back to the federal government’s treasury.

Upon investigation by POST NIGERIA, this has since been proven to be untrue and the alleged acrimony and return of stolen funds was parroted by an oil magnate who is currently gunning to buy Nigeria’s refineries.
A family friend who spoke to POST NIGERIA pled anonymity and said “If you know this man, you will see that all this talk about stolen money is just lies. These spin doctors are just cowards.

“He has not fallen out with anybody and has not made any dirty deals.”

Momoh has however continued to state he did not loot public funds.
