The picture posted is of an Umale festival at Igbotako, Osooro. Igbotako is a city in Ikaleland but not in Ilajeland. It appears the writer could not differentiate between the Ikales and the Ilajes hence the muddling of history and culture. Both are kins and are related by history. They speak similar dialects. Both celebrates similar cultural events. I.e the Umale festival. They Have same kind of musical genre called Biripo music. Thank you.

An Ekurede woman married to Ekpen family of Okere. The masquerades are customary acknowledgement of the marital ties between the two.

The leader of the masquerades is called Öshogwa Umale”with several bodyguards while the others filed out in a single line for seven market days of Okere till the last day. At the rear of the masquerades is “Okwooye”, wearing a big hat and holding a whip, dressed in baggy attire touching the ground due to oversize.

The mother of them all, referred to as Queen, is called “Eleghe”, very gentle, majestic and moves in measured steps, walking on red carpet. It is rarely seen in public – once in 50 years. Many people see Eleghe only once in their life time. Its public appearance is now reduced to 25 years.

According to Erikowa who lived in Ekurede, since 1956, Eleghe came out twice. For the masquerades, after their appearance on the seventh market day, they go back to the shrine known as “Ekun”, opening their faces on the way.

Women come out to seek their blessings and favour for children, to strike out failures and curses from their lives, to seek success in life. On the last day also, everyone comes to appeal to the Umales as they return to the shrine to cast away their misfortunes and problems, bring prosperity, give them long life, take away sickness, troubles and not to have afflictions in life again.

1. Show proof of you posting that Itshekiris and Yoruba are related. Saying Itshekiri is a Yoruboid group is not enough for you to call Yorubas your people. Saying Itshekiris are a Yoruboid group is one thing but saying Itshekiris are related to Yorubas (and hence Yorubas are YOUR people) is another thing entirely. Afteral Igalas are a Yoruboid group and so are the Ewe people of Ghana - are they also YOUR people?
2. Where in my various posts did I mention 'you hate Yorubas'? What has hate or love got to do with this? I am ONLY demanding that you be consistent with cultural claims and affiliations. Read my post again and bold where I mentioned that you hate Yorubas. Show any post I 'tagged you a Yoruba hater' or REMAIN an im-becile forever.

U just said it at the bolded. The yoruboid group is large and diverse. Too much clans under this group. Most times some of these clans are unable to express themselves on their own due to the fact that they fall under a larger group which speak on behalf of the minor clans. I understand what he's trying to say there. It's understandable if some clans decides to be on their own. I am not against that. You should also note that at a time before the invasion of the whites every clan was bearing it's own identity. Nothing like "Yoruba Tribe" in the 16th century. The Yoruba tribe ideology was meant to unite these clans together in harmony
