There are indications that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) may write former President Goodluck Jonathan over his alleged connection with the anti-graft agency's ongoing investigation into the $2.1billion arms procurement scandal as his name has been consistently mentioned by suspects in the interrogation. Recall former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.)said he disbursed funds from his office on the instruction of the former President.




The immediate past Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had also claimed she transferred money to the former NSA following a meeting presided over by Goodluck Jonathan. Following these allegations levelled against the former president, there are indications that should the commission take a decision to write Goodluck Jonathan, it would need clearance from President Muhammadu Buhari. In a related development, some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) will be invited for interrogation by the EFCC.

No one is above the law. If they feel he has some issues to clarify, then by all means they should invite him. The good President, am sure, will accept their invitation and present himself for questioning. This they should do upfront, instead of beating around the bush. They should also, outrightly extend an invitation to the Emir of Kano, to present himself for questioning on his role in the whole melee.
