Until the government says a day is a public holiday, it's not legally a holiday.

26th December (Boxing Day) is a Saturday, hence Monday December 28th, was declared as public holiday. It was a pattern established by Obasanjo's government. If an event requiring a public holiday falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), the next working day (Monday) is declared as public holiday...
