Have you heard of Lunar Calendar? Have you consider why the Muslim month of Ramadan fluctuates, and why 'Ileya' is not celebrated in the same month year in year out?

This info is nothing new. I already calculated the hols on my own and even factored in new year's day and the weekend. They should just pay employees and provide enough fuel and electricity so that the holiday will make sense.

Meanwhile, I am leaving for villa tomorrow, fuel or no fuel, so long as aviation fuel dey and there is ladder with which to disembark from the craft.

You proly don't have a job and you rest at home everyday hence any additional rest day appears annoying to you. The average Nigerian and Lagosian in particular who does the kind of traffic and stress that we go through each day will be happy to even receive additional public holidays.

26th December (Boxing Day) is a Saturday, hence Monday December 28th, was declared as public holiday. It was a pattern established by Obasanjo's government. If an event requiring a public holiday falls on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), the next working day (Monday) is declared as public holiday...
