Dick Tiger (Richard Ihetu) is arguably Africas greatest boxer of all time. The wikipedia described Tiger as a boxer, commercial venturer, and Biafran rebel. He became a two-time undisputed world middleweight titlist and helped keep boxing alive during the 1950s boxing industry recession. Tiger had been banned from entering Nigeria by the then Federal government because of his involvement in the Biafran movement; however, the ban was lifted immediately after news about his ailing health condition arrived in Nigeria. He died in 1971 of cancer aged 42

Even in his death, he was not defeated. In 1991, Dick Tiger added yet another feather to his cap when he was posthumously inducted into the prestigious International Boxing Hall of Fame, in the USA – the first African boxer ever, to be admitted into this VIP club of Boxing’s greats.

Muhammed Ali had 61 fights, wins 56 only 37 of them by knockout and 9 losses, do you think the Ugandan is greater than Ali. Some people just want people to enjoy the game before they win, because it is entertainment even though they are fighting

Biafrans have been at the forefront of all greatest achievements coming from Nigeria. I just finished reading about Emmanuel Ifeajuna from Onitsha who was the first black man to win gold at international games held in Britain. He won Gold in Long Jump...now tell me why we are not great blood?our ancestors have been conquering the world from the time immemorial...am a Biafran.

When the war broke out, as the Igbo man he was and son of the soil, he stood by his people. He even instructed that the Biafran anthem be played before the start of his boxing matches.
