Wike Gradually Losing Grip Of PDP Members In Rivers by drshrewd: 7:47am On Dec 30, 2015
By Victor Azubuike on December 29, 2015@dailypostng

The recent Appeal Court’s nullification of Governor Nyesom Wike’s election, as well as that of the 15 members of the National Assembly and 22 seats of the State House of Assembly in Rivers State, is beginning to take its toll on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.

DAILY POST gathered that key members of the PDP and known supporters of Governor Nyesom have started depleting in numbers.

It was learnt that as a result of the court judgments that went in favour of the APC, the recent appointment of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi as Minister and his ex-aide, Ibim Semenitari as the Acting Head of the NDDC among others, members of the PDP are beginning to pitch tent with the APC in the state.

Recently, a frontline governorship candidate of the PDP in the last election from the Kalabari region of the state, Dr. Bekinbo Soberekon, was reportedly sighted at the state secretariat of the APC to register and obtain a membership card of the party.

The APC is currently registering and re-validating the status of its members in Rivers State.

Also, one Matthew Aleru, a strong leader of the PDP in Ikwerre local government area, former Commissioner under Governor Peter Odili and former managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Basin Authority has joined the APC.

In the same vein, Igochukwu Dim, who ran for the Emohua/Ikwerre federal constituency seat on the platform of the PDP has moved with his supporters to the APC.

Just yesterday a recent appointee of Wike, Ndubuisi Nwankwo also held a rally to mark his defection to the APC.
Ndubuisi, who is a stalwart of the PDP from Omuma Local government area of the state was last month sworn-in as member of the Governing Council of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt.

The Omuma PDP leader defected with more than 80 supporters at a rally attended by the Deputy Governorship candidate of the APC, Asita Asita.

The defectors gave similar reasons for their action, stressing that the PDP under Nyesom Wike had no future for the people of Rivers State.

It is easier for the Emir of Kano to be elected Governor of rivers state than for (dis)honourable Dakuku Peterside to win a single polling unit in the rerun election. grin

Sharp guys. Men with foresight (hustlers). With the transport ministry (nimasa, npa and other revenue generating transport subsectors) and nddc in the bag for APC it is only wise to move with the tide.
With dwindling revenues lately, rivers state alone will not be able to cater for these hungry politicians without support from the federal govt.

This is how Nigerian politics is played. It is not a pdp or apc thing it is just the reality on ground.

There was an attempt on the life of an APC chieftain (former ikwere local govt chair), Hon chikodi dike, who challenged wike to a popularity contest in the rerun. He escaped with gun shot injuries but his orderly was killed. If your idea of winning is to kill and intimidate your opponents then you have lost it.
Btw, your post is not only unimaginable, it is ridiculous.

Wike remains the worse interim governor Rivers have ever had

He plunged the IGR of the state from an average of N8b to less than N5b due to unwantory interference, vested interest and infighting in the state revenue board, staffs and revenue contractors

over N100b was recently approved by RSHA for supplementary budget when the year is barely 2wks to go

He suspended all the activities of the RSSDA which ran different empowerment programs, including scholarship, skill acquisition, agriculture(songai farm, fish farming, paultery, etc), employment schemes through job fair, etc

He plans to 'Wikedly' send back our overseas scholars numbering over 600 back home angry

Sacked thousands of workers (RSSDA, Rivpoly, Tima riv, etc) without creating jobs

Borrowed over N40b just to patch roads and construct open gutter drainage sad

Abandoned the public schools in the state to be overgrown by weeds and rodent

threatening the peace in the state by advising his supporters not to report any offensive from the opposition to the police or security operative instead they should attack in three folds____ what a thug of a governor

a government without economic blue print, no development program, no project timeline is as good as no government

we the good people of Rivers have decided to boot him out with our votes come 2016

^^^Some people NEVER learn from experience even if literally hammered into their brain. I remember when they swore on their lives Baba would NEVER become the president of a united Nigeria, but here we are. They swore Amaechi would be forgotten like the traitor he is, but we know where he is today.

Now they are back to their old habits swearing xyz would never happen in Rivers- what else can we do than lean back with arms folded and savour the scenes of a repetition of history.

Ps: Given the avalanche of sordid revelations we've been getting from Santa Dasuki's episode, I think it is about time we invited Ihejirika and the Australian Steven Davis to tell us more about what transpired between them and Boko Haram.

It's time to know how much extra fuel I will be getting at the new rate of N86.50. Currently, my full tank is N5,000. At the current rate of N87, I get 57.47 litres. From January 1, my N5,000 will get me 57.80 litres. The difference between 57.80 and 57.47 is 0.33 litres. To better appreciate what the reduction is price comes to, I have decided to convert the litres saving to centilitres which comes to 33cl. That's like the old small coke bottle. Them try sha!

Wike has finally lost it. This should sound has a deterrent to APC and other upcoming leaders that change is the only constant factor. Power only belongs to God Almighty and no man has the monopoly of power. The future is bright for Nigeria and the key to the success of the project called Nigeria rest in the peoples hands and not any man or party !!! cool
