you have stated a very good point. But what if the abooki rented the house to bokoharam's shekao?? Does that mean the abooki is free and has nothing to do with it?? Aiding and abetting crime is same as committing it. Ignorance is not an excuse in the law.

You have a point there. If the young man gets a good lawyer and feigns ignorance of the motive of the equipments, then the court will have to drop the DSS charge against him. Only MTN can press a criminal charge against him. I would have expected the DSS to pressure NCC to fine MTN for allowing unlawful use of its telecom equipment, but then i guess the law doesnt work like that.

I'm sure he never anticipated the gravity of punishment that will follow his illegal deal. If he had, I'm he would have negotiated better or simply fled. grin
