arabaribiti: Chazzyboy: That's for people using the electronic payment system. You tap your card on the terminal when you enter the bus and you tap it again when exiting the bus. See the picture below: The former Deputy Governor is "tapping in". And don't forget to watch out for the digital boards at the front of the buses to know it's exact stopping point. e.g Ikorodu-TBS, Ikorodu-Fadeyi, Mile12-CMS e.t.c come see fight for Agric bus stop this morning 1 Like |

shogz89: No tapping out in China. Just swipe your card at the entrance. Charges are flat rate. Besides, I didn't say tapping out is not good. Just talked generally about the two. #justsaying - They have the swiping in and out system on their metros. |

Chazzyboy: The new buses and few old ones are equipped with e-ticketing platforms. So a passenger with "Lagos Connect" card with value of N1000 will tap the card on a machine in the bus upon boarding it and also he is expected to tap out when getting off. the length of the trip will determine the fare that'll be deducted from the card. This system offers better choice for passengers as against the flat rate paper tickets being sold at terminals across the state. 1 Like |

Gradually, Lagos is becoming the Dubai of Africa. The only thing my car does fore these days is just to get me to the bus stop, and from there it's BRT bus to the island. So convenient and fast. Eko o ni baje o!!' |

mrlaw93: The BRT bus isn't just for those with their own car. Do you have a driver? Do you have AC? Imagine how it's like when youbare tired and just coming from work. |
Re: 6 Things You Should Know While Booking For New BRT BUSES by jaysay(m): 7:02pm On Jan 14, 2016 |
Let's hope the AC will hr working 6 months later. I remember how the buses on Festac to CMS route used to have AC. But not anymore. 1 Like |

Nice One. Am not sure of the number 2 though. I drove from Enugu to Lagos on 27 of Dec, really tired so I decided to park my car at a friend's place somewhere in Magodo. The following morning I took Keke to Ketu to join the BRT to VI. I bought the ticket that was issued to me electronically few minutes past 7am, but the bus didn't show up on time so I bought another ticket for 120k cos I was in a hurry with the hope that I can use it as return ticket. To my amazement the Ticketer refused to allow me to board cos my ticket has expired. I even asked her to check the time it was issued she refused bluntly. That was around few minutes past two pm same day oooo. My brother the ticket follow me back to the East...uselessly |

Chazzyboy:In case you are making use of the card. You need to tap it out on your exit from the bus if not the card continues to run.Which means you are being charged until you tap out the card.payments options are through Purchase of N70 ticket Or the use of prepared card. |

Chazzyboy: lol, tapping is an old method of using your bus card, over here in Nigeria, we still use bus tickets but in countries like the UK, far back as 2005, yo actually only need |
Re: 6 Things You Should Know While Booking For New BRT BUSES by doveda: 7:19pm On Jan 14, 2016 |
3rdlegxxx: Tapping might be old but it is better than the UK's method. We use the tapping method in Belgium. A single ticket lasts for an hout, that means you can join another bus with the same ticket instead of buying another ticket |
Re: 6 Things You Should Know While Booking For New BRT BUSES by Nobody: 7:22pm On Jan 14, 2016 |
shogz89: Ok noted, thanks Sir. Too bad I don't ply that route. |
Re: 6 Things You Should Know While Booking For New BRT BUSES by gretblue: 7:24pm On Jan 14, 2016 |
Dhavido:You are not JJC. Fadeyi is the last bus stop en route BRT lane. From Fadeyi the BRT takes an over head bridge which directly leads to stadium and which is totally off your route. |

ify2016:for number 6, based on my experience in Dubai, you tap in as you enter and tap out on alighting, else computer reads you as still being in the bus while the bus moves the whole kilometers until your balance is exhausted. 1 Like |

Chazzyboy: Tap In and Out simply means, instead of you buying the printed ticket so as to be able to board the bus to ur destination or returning, U simply use a Card like an ATM card which u already have money or credit on. There's a small machine inside the Boss which u need to show the card to when boarding(Tap In) U must also do same whilst alighting(Tap Out) failure to do so, ur credit in the card will keep running till it is exhausted! Do U understand my jagons at all? |

ify2016: ...so, itz because of thez blue BRT buses that the Lagos state government hav devised several means to frustrate the people of Ikorodu so as to patronise their buses? ...Since they opened the BRT lanes frm mile12 to ikorodu, they'v barred the Red BRT buses from using it. Getting to mile12, down to tbs, they'v also restricted d former blue buses... Now, they are carrying out a repaving @ mile12. Instead of them to bring in ready-made paves and install there due to the volume of traffic around there, they brought in the cement mixer truck & barricaded the road that isnt wide enuf... Imagine, boarding red BRT frm Igbogbo it took more than four hours to get to Ikeja. As if itz not enuf, they now altered the traffic light @ ogolonto, making the traffic every evening to extend beyond NNPC & SO filling stations - sometin we neva saw since the road was upgraded. Must we all patronise your buses? The buses u provided is like 1/10th of what we need.... Whosoeva is responsible for this sh*t is CURSED! 1 Like 1 Share |
