If pastors in your church are fond of disobeying authorities and breaking away to form their churches, it doesn't happen like that in the catholic church. Our priests are trained to be disciplined and obedient to authorities. Catholic priests are not cheap like your pastors, even if the priest is dripping with anointing.

Do you know how long they spend in the seminary? NINE GOOD YEARS, and not 3 months like your cheap pastors. Do you know who footed the bills to train them for those 9 years? The bishops and the church.

1. First year is spiritual year or novitiate for religious priest and it is for a year.
2. Undergraduate of philosophy for 4 years.
3. Apostolic year (6mnths -one year) where they are posted to a parish,its like their IT.

5.Diaconate ordination(one year)
6. Priestly ordination.

Monies collected dont go into personal pocket of any priest or that of the bishop or pope. The monies are managed by church members, the congregation. You may not bell e it, harvest money is taken to bank directly from the church and church members are signatory too the account. Yeah, priests are not slaves to money or fame in the catholic church

In Which Organized Church with branches that the members are not in the know of their financial activities? In Kano Diocese, the Priest is the sole signatory to the Church account! Thats why whenever they are about to be transferred to another church, they would clear the whole account! My Mother was always in the Finance committee, so I always get 1st hand gist. I remember many years back when I was still an Alter Server, we gave the Priest our money to hold, When he was transferred, na so our money follow am go!


That was how during Harvest/thanksgiving period in the Cathedral some years back, they were doing thanksgiving procession for European clubs fans Chaiii!

I am a christian precisely a Catholic infact an ex- seminarian. But sometimes I wish I am a Muslim. Going through this thread I realised that We as nigerians have problem with knowledge and understanding. Firstly no church whatsoever is perfect. Only God is. Yes, mbaka is controversial but is controversy really a bad thing. For all I know christ was also controversial. There is a difference between controversy and scandal.
Politics is everywhere and everything. Even Italy have two seats of power because of the Catholic. So why crucify mbaka for dabbling into politics. Are we ruled by aliens?
Knowledge is very different from understanding. Before we end up killing ourselves all in the name of religion. Have we tried to go the extra mile to ascertain the truth.
For instance, you can't say catholics don't read the bible or they worship Mary without a firsthand account of what obtains in the Catholic Church. Same with other things we do in this country.
For the record, I don't understand why this thread is generating this fuss. No big deal in this transfer because being a diocesan priest fr. Mbaka can't be transferred out of enugu. Infact if he truely is without any parish, better for him and his bishop because anything he says can't be tied to any parish( primary jurisdiction) but his ministry. There is a difference in what he says in his parish pulpit and his ministry

For your info, churches have been breaking away from the catholic church since church of england, but the church is still standing today. Despite all the negative activities of martin Luther king- which he regretted later before he died- the church is still standing. If mbaka breaks away, which he is too disciplined and obedient to do, the church will still be standing. When Christ comes again, he will meet us still standing and not commercializing Christianity.

So, whatever happens, nothing finishes. Do you know why? The catholic church is not a one man business like yoiur church.

there's something you don't understand. in the catholic church, priests r posted to parishes for a period of time, usually 5 years or 6.
after that time they're transferred to another parish. it doesn't matter if you single-handedly built ur parish, you'll still b transferred when the time comes.

I don't know how true this news is but assuming it's true, there is no big deal in it. Transfer of priests is a normal thing in the catholic church and I've heard Mbaka himself talk about his possible transfer like 5 years ago, I am even surprised he stayed in CKC till now.

Upon transfer, every priest is given a new parish as his place of primary assignment. The bishop will not ask a priest to leave his former parish when he has not given him a new one. And it is funny saying Mbaka will become an assistant parish priest after almost 20 years of being a parish priest, that is more like demotion unless he is staying under a mosignor.

The only reasonable explanation to me here is that he is now a residential priest in the new parish which is what I always expected the bishop to make him all these years because his ministry work alone is too time consuming.

Making him a residential priest will relieve him of much parish work and give him more time to handle his ever growing ministry, and posting him close to his adoration ground make it even easier for him. If this is true, the bishop is really a thoughtful and considerate person and this has nothing to do with Buhari or politics or petitions.
