The women gave the charge on Saturday while congratulating their former Interim National Women Leader, Ms Sharon Ikeazor for her emergence as the party’s senatorial candidate for the fresh election in Anambra State Central Senatorial District.

In a statement by the Enugu State Women Leader of APC, Lolo Queen Nwankwo, she described Ikeazor’s emergence as a plus for women in Nigeria and South-East in particular.

Nwankwo urged all women voters in Anambra Central to come out and vote massively for Ikeazor, the daughter of Oboli Obosi.

According to her, Ikeazor’s uncommon advantage “is that she is one of those who packaged the APC. She automatically would enjoy the privilege of membership of the ruling APC elite Senate Caucus. Indeed her vote is automatic ticket to membership of the elite APC Senate Caucus.”

The Women Leader opined that, “The APC Senate Caucus is the engine room of the senate. The caucus is the anchor and liaison between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate. A vote for lady Sharon Ikeazor is a vote for Ndigbo to belong to the elite All Progressives Congress (APC) Senate Caucus. The Caucus is the engine room of the Senate and the anchor liaison between the Senate and the Executive.

The APC Senate Caucus has a scheduled bi-weekly meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, and the Vice President Professor Yomi Osinbajo. This is where federal government policies, programmes and projects are fine tuned.

The 2nd Niger Bridge, the dilapidated federal roads, Enugu Coal, Lagos-Onisha-Calabar railway lines etc, will be discussed at this Caucus where Ndigbo are not presently represented. A vote for Sharon confers us this golden opportunity because she is from day one a member of the progressive political family.

In fact, none of the 14 Senators from the South East as presently constituted is a member of this elite Caucus; even our revered son, Deputy Senate President (DSP), Senator Ike Ekweremadu is not a member. And Ndigbo is also not represented at the Federal House of Representatives Caucus.

Without being immodest, to avoid further marginalization of Ndigbo, a vote for Sharon is a way forward. But a vote for our dear brother, High Chief Victor Umeh, will further marginalise Ndigbo, as no deluge of his propaganda will attract federal projects. He will neither be admitted into the APC Senate Caucus nor find easy to enter Aso Villa. He will be Lone Ranger and a tree cannot make a forest, as APGA has no other senator.

Sharon knows all the Ministers on one to one basis, having waged the 2007, 2011 and 2015 electoral battles closely with most of them. She needs no protocol to meet Mr Vice President or Mr President.
