The APC government are trying so hard to cover up so many ills in our economy with well painted lies. Nigerians would have to brace up for a tough 2016. The CBN has never been as busy churning out countless and confused policies as they have done in the past few weeks. Sources within government say the country is broke and in economic crisis. Many federal workers are yet to be paid salaries since last year, but the media has been muted. The SSANU of federal universities are battling to save their jobs as the government wants to systematically fire them to save cost. Buhari and APC have carried on as though we are experiencing a boom. May God save Nigeria.

Why you go dey lie. Like this?
How can nigeria be broke and our president is junketing around the globe, is he travelling with Bini type of aircraft that requires no aviation fuel and pilot?

Nigeria isn't broke.

The Buhari northern cabal wants to give us that impression because their plan is to take over the economy from the south.

They have the power, they dominate the army and the civil service and now they want the economy.

Where are the ab0ki forex dealers getting forex from if not from the same CBN .

They get access to forex at the regular CBN rate to which they sell on the streets to southern business men at 305.

This move alone is meant to weaken the southern businesses.

How about the NSE which has lost 5 trillion naira in just 8mths? Who is buying all those cheap shares if not the same northerners?

The man has had 31 hard long years to perfect his sectional agenda only for some myopic fools down south to hand him power to implement it.

By the time they finish resetting Nigeria, Kano will be more economically viable than Lagos.

Contrary to your assertion the whole world knows Nigeria is broke. However what is needed is idea on how to manage our economy and move away from dependence on oil.

Nigeria isn't broke.

Nigeria just cannot service imports.

This is a very big difference.

Salaries are not paid in dollars but naira which the govt has a lot of revenue avenues within the country to generate.

TheDevilIsALai:
NSE composite value wiped off $10bn (50%)in 6 mths and still falling.

Have you asked who is dumping shares and in return who is mopping them up?

Most of the shares being dumped come from foriegn investors who see the economy as a train heading for dissaster and most of those buying them are northerners. As the foriegn investors dump their shares it creates a ripple effect leading to most southerners dumping theirs which makes the shares cheaper for adamus to buy into.

As for the naira, the strict rules in place are just hogwash since the black marketers who are mainly northerners still have back door access to dollars from the CBN.

This move is meant to cripple southern business and in turn make the northerners control the forex market.

When I say sense is not part of the south una go begin curse una father

The best team buhari could assemble after several years of contesting for the office, would budget more money for information ministry than that of agriculture at this point.

"Dollar broke" is the right phrase. We are import dependent hence scarcity of Dollar affects us.

Does the FG need dollars to pay civil servants?

The economy is in dire need of a stimulus and the only way they can halt serious deflation (which is worse than hyper inflation) is to pour money into the system.

The economy is already showing serious signs of deflation because if you observe the parallel rate at 305 to the USD you wont see the sharp inflation that one ought to expect . This is because there is hardly any liquidity in circulation and as such retailers and businesses are afraid of scaring the few customers they have with a price hike.

My friend the economy is in shreds.

The FG needs to inject liquidity into circulation fast.

How can local business take over from importers were there is no patronage due to poverty?

He has blocked the borders and is denying importers access to forex so what is left is to allow liquidity to circulate in order to promote local businesses and trade.

Maybe your own sector is in shreds. I'm making far more money now and I believe so is it for any seriour hardworking man. Liquidity will lead to inflation. It is easy to just print enough notes to pay workers but the issue is that their should be equivalent foreign exchange or we will have uncontrollable devaluation with a Dollar trading at 1000 Naira in just a month.

come on sis, do you honestly believe that Buhari wrecked the economy of this country all in the space of six months?

one would expect that if the economy handed over to the Buhari government was sound, it would take much longer to unravel it.

we were all in the country when jonathan was distributing dollars to garner support for his re-election bid.

dont be too sure that jonathan did not steal more than the past leaders you mentioned.

parastatals like customs and others were hardly remitting revenue to the federal government, despite the fact that they were making huge money.

i believe you are a decent person. lets stop defending these people. our job is to demand an explanation from them, their job is to provide such and make it convincing enough. unless ofcourse you are related to one of the yam eaters.

we will put buhari too on the scale when it is time. he hasn't spent a year in office and we are already screaming crucify him.

if memory serves me well, we gave jonathan good support for most part of his tenure. shouldnt be hard to do same for buhari unless we are ethnic bigots.

Blame Jonathan as usual.

It is easier to destroy than is to build .

The world trade centre attacks on 9/11 not only took down the towers that took years to build under a few hours but also saw the US economy tether towards a recession which necessitated the NYSE and NASDAQ to shut down for two days!

6yrs of hard work in building our economy under jonathan was destroyed in 6mths by Buhari.

Remember that next time when you want to defend your dullard.

This government has grounded the economy to a halt by enforcing a funny TSA regime that holds on to cash that should be free and stimulating production and businesses in the country. Obama wasn't blaming Bush and doing nothing smart. He lent monies to production companies as stimulus. Buhari is just about Efcc soap operas. Except the monies he will recover from the looters is enough to help Nigeria back to its feet, this government needs to wear their thinking cap and chart a sensible roadmap out of this mess.

The TSA was meant to receive govt revenue and not to house also budgetary allocations.

But trust them. They know what they are doing. The banks are suffering badly under this TSA arrangement and after the northern banks like Unity Bank ( which just relocated its corporate hq to Lagos) begin to acquire southern banks like WEMA and co, they will then change the policy and make unity bank an agent for the TSA.

The way Sanusi went all out against southern owned banks like Oceanic and Intercontinental while ignoring unity bank shows how the northerners are bent on resessting the economy to their favor.

Get power and everything comes to you.

Tinubu's billions are nothing compared to Buhari's authority.
