It really can be frustrating having your child not doing well at school especially when you are paying huge fees. It doesn’t really go down well with most parents. Who wants to reserve water in a basket? However, the efforts to improve your child academically start with you, you and you because in the short and long run he/she is yours!!! Though the school and the teachers too have their role too to play. Let us take a look at some things you could do to help the situation.

1. Reading: Don’t say they are small kids after all, let them develop the attitude of reading. It will help them later . As kids, you should also ensure you find time out to read with them and discuss whatever it is you have read with them.

2. Experience matters: Use the everyday experience common around you to explain them.It makes them understand better. For example you want to explain simple addition and subtraction to them, then why not use the everyday example of how they buy biscuits and sweets from the local store down the street?

3. Know what they do at school: Don’t just stop at buying them school books, textbooks, uniforms etc Take a step further to meet their teachers( even if not often) and also the subjects and modules they do in school. It will help you guide them during home study.

4. Talk to your child’s teacher: This isn’t difficult these days especially now there’s rea mobile phone everywhere. You may need to know how your ward is performing in class, extracurricular activities etc Read More.http://relationshiptalks.com.ng/assisting-your-child-academically/
