Well I do not know if any one is thinking what iam thinking? I still believe that if GEJ's kind of economic team are to handle Nigerian economy even today, the citizens would be made to find solace without feeling all the economic shock that are now prevalent. All the same I call on Nigerians to support PMB and his team. At the end of this political mile, we will know how far and how well. #supportPMBpolicies! |

I might not be an economist or an accountant but I know that selling will be the worst decision the administration will make. We need to learn to grow balls and make hard decisions in this country 3 Likes |

StuntingBlack:You seriously do not know or understand what you are talking about. You can as well outsource the entire country to the Chinese since you and your Buhari have obviously run out of ideas. It is better for the present government to honorably throw in the towel than to contemplate the absurdly unthinkable idea of selling off our commonwealth. |

Nightshift: It's just a pity we found ourselves in this mess. The trigger happy half educated Fulani military young men messed up the entire system since the end of the civil war. They struggled to keep everybody at their level and it worked. 2 Likes |

I don't understand why people are complaining about this instead of rejoicing. For all the talk of "selling off our commonwealth" and so forth, one might be forgiven for thinking there were any Nigerian parastatals that were well run! Can anyone give actual examples of such a thing? Not NEPA, not Nigeria Airways, not NITEL, and certainly not NNPC! Privatization and deregulation are precisely what Nigeria needs right now. Get rid of loss-making, inefficient government enterprises and deregulate the sectors they operate in! If it takes an oil price crash to force the Buhari government to do the right thing, then at least one good thing has come of the current low price of oil. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Sell it. Even Saudi is selling off theirs. Governments should not be running companies. Period! Only thing they should run are defense, some schools and nipost. 3 Likes |

MansaMoussa: Everything in Nigeria is wired to enhance corruption...even the probe panel is not free from corruption...Nigeria's problem is like a tree...a tree that was planted in the 50s and 60s when Nigeria was young and fledgling and corruption wasn't widespread...some wise men in uniform saw what was coming but their approach was wrong...I am beginning to see some sense in Nigeria giving way to smaller and manageable federations for the very first time...we can try to work with what we have but in the longrun...sooner or later...wat will happen will happen naturally.....we got independence without war or bloodshed regardless of the 3years insanity and barbarism between 1967 - 1970 so the split will come rather as a necessity....selling our biggest asset will only create problems...investors are not saints or fools...they are all opportunists....we have to go back to that time wen that tree of corruption was planted and start afresh sooner than later... 1 Like |

Jesusloveyou:I have noticed that you have repeatedly on this forum spelled that word like that since you first learned of it, initial i thought it was just a typographical error but you have been very consistent in the wrong usage of it. This portrays you as an unteachable scumbag who would usually delve into matters higher than his level of reasoning! I will not bother with correcting you, but I will only ask you to tell buhari that Nigerians are still waiting for him to stabilize the international oil prices as he promised during campaigns. 3 Likes |

continentalceo:Everything you listed above are all possibilities, but they can only be vigorously pursued in a truly federal state. Anything short of true federalism, Nigeria will continue to go round and round. There is too much of mutual suspicion in the polity, our leaders are only their for themselves! The 2016 budget would convince you beyond every reasonable doubt that our leaders are just there for themselves. True federalism in itself is not el-dorado, but it makes the states more manageable by the people for the people. And by then, carrying out Amaechi's recommendations of stoning them when they embezzle our commonwealth would not be selective and witch-hunting! 2 Likes |

omohayek: Correctamondo! Governments are inefficient in running businesses. Margaret Thatcher got UK off that road in the 80s and they all attacked her for it. Now, they have every reason to eulogize her soul. The best thing to happen to Great Britain after years of Government bureaucracy and decay. 2 Likes |
