There is one mistake some Christians make today which should be corrected. It is about living a fruitful life as a Believer in CHRIST. Mind you, Salvation in CHRIST is only by Grace through faith in CHRIST... nothing more nothing less. The reason Apostle Paul admonishes us believers to be living a fruitful life as evidence of our Salvation is not because we would lose our Salvation but its only because of our relationship with people.

Now some or most Christians have termed living a Sacrificial life as the ideal Christian life which is to produce fruits but they got it all wrong..... Look at the explanation below.

Living a “sacrificial life” is not the same as being fruitful. To sacrifice is to give up something for nothing, like the lambs did on the altar. They received no benefit from it. The notion that Christians have to live sacrificial lives is man’s idea, not God’s. Jesus said that He came so that we could have an abundant life, not a sacrificial one. (John 10:10 )

Christians aren’t asked to give up something for nothing. No one who is truly walking with the Lord thinks of it as a sacrifice, he thinks of it as a greater blessing than anything he could have otherwise received. People who take pride in living a sacrificial life are missing the point, and by denying themselves the things they secretly still want (it wouldn’t be a sacrifice if they didn’t), they not only aren’t producing any fruit, they may just be performing works of the flesh. You can tell because the result is not joy, it’s jealousy, envy or resentment toward others. These are not the fruit of the Spirit.

OP, I understand you better but sacrificial life for Christian is not giving up something for nothing. When Christians give up something, it is either as instructed by God, not to be distracted by it, or to make heaven. The fact that a christian gave up something doesn't necessarily means it is a sin. It might be an hindrance, don't forget that we all have different strength and weaknesses.
Another reason might be to help others. I gave up watching Musical videos that I love to watch a lot but for my nephews who now live with me, because there is barely any musical video with no half naked lady. Don't, forget that scripture says, if meat will make your neighbour sin, DON'T eat it. It doesn't mean the meat is a sin, but to save weak lives. God bless our nation

90% of christians are not serving God in Spirit n in truth. They are only interested in what they will gain, they see God as a money doubler. That's why pastors are cashing in big today. They preach mainly about giving to God for more returns.

See strange teachings flooding the church .I can bet 100 percent this was taught to you by a so called pastor somewhere and i will advice you to run away from such people who will only make you twice a candidate of hell.

What are the fruits of the spirit if i may ask you?
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience (long suffering)
Kindness
Goodness
Gentleness
Faithfulness
Self control

These are the fruit you are meant to bear as a christian,if they are lacking them then i must tell you that you are dancing on a wrong path. As a christian you are meant to sacrifice alot of things just like someone rightly said even though they are not sins.Anything that distracts you or that can even lead you to sins which you discovered in your self and hence battling with them.
One can decide with him self to stop buying flashy cloths if he sees it leads him to pride,or to stop reading some news or books if he sees that it leads him to lustful thoughts. Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Please dont twist the scriptures because you do not want to let go of certain things that entice or keep you bondage,a christian has to understand that we are pilgrims/visitors in this world nothing should the too much to let go of for the course of Christ even if it means ones life.take a cue from the apostles of Christ.

Denying oneself means sacrifice
Taking up your cross signifies accepting the pains that comes with it as a christian.it will mould you to bear fruits.

[Bold One] This is one of the erroneous tenents of SOLA FIDE (FAITH ALONE) and SOLA GRATIA (GRACE ALONE) started by Martin Luther (Founder of Protestantism) as against St James that tells us: You see that a man is justified by his works and not Faith Alone (James 2;24). What this means is that Faith(from Grace)+Works are integral not separate stand alone entities, which therefore means you can not isolate Faith(Product of Grace) from Works. SOLA FIDE and SOLA GRATIA attempts to damage this unity, it is even contradictory to say Salvation is by Faith Alone, and then say Salvation is by Grace Alone, If they are truly alone why have two different SOLAs to make this assertion?.
So please don't come here to impose erroneous teachings on us. Catholics and Traditional Churches wont stand by this teaching. Go study the history of the SOLAs to better understand my point (you can find a link I quickly googled and attached at the bottom of this post). If you think you can live however you like and make heaven you aren't even close, the bible says be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect (Matt 5:48). Remember the Beatitudes (Matt 5:1-12), this teaching of yours completely ignores what it stands for .

[Bold Two]
St James tell us that Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). So why do you preach this heresy started by Martin Luther? What about the Rich Man Christ asked to sell off his wealth to the poor which he would still receive in the kingdom of heaven? Shouldn't his believe(which you call faith) alone in Jesus have saved him? (James 2:19 says even the devils believe and tremble). Instead, the rich man refused and didnt want to live a sacrificial life which in this case was the works necessary to obtain salvation, it wasn't even really sacrificial because Christ promised he would have riches in heaven(therefore it was a physical sacrifice but spiritual gain). his faith was therefore not complete because he wasn't willing to put in the necessary work. The Bible says work out your salvation in Fear and Trembling (Philippians 2:12) While Faith is important for salvation and not possible without the Grace of God, Works (how we live) is also very important, Faith is empty if it isn't backed up with good works. Remember we are usually referred to in Christ's parables as workers in the Lord's vineyard, not guests who sit and watch the master work the entire vineyard alone.

[Bold 3] So we shouldn't fast? We shouldn't give alms? We shouldn't pray not to fall into sin? And when we do sin, we shouldn't bother to make amends? We also shouldn't correct those we see doing wrong? What about the people of Nineveh that dressed in sackcloths and ashes (Jonah 3:5-10) , were they doing it in vain?---- All of these should be ignored cos our salvation is already guaranteed? Why do we remain alive after receiving Christ? What then is our purpose? If you are one of those who go around commiting sin and saying to yourself that Jesus has died for my sins both past and future therefore you wont be held accountable for your future ill doings, please repent now, the devil is still at large tempting people to fall into sin, there must be a reason for it, therefore pray, fast, do penance and good works, it helps your soul spiritually it cant be explained in physical terms (an example is the Rich man described in Bold 2 above).

There are many articles online that explain the history of the separation of the church by Martin Luther. Sola Fide is one of them. If you have time you can read this article about the Sola fide,
http://www.acatholicthinker.net/sola-fide/
this can at least give you some short history about Martin Luther and his Solas.

Living a sacrificial life is by grace not personal work, its an act of Love, 1Jn 3 talks more on love and sacrificial live. There are people who took others problems as their own burden, and are comfortable by it. but when we do thing for the sake of others and still feel otherwise, that is not sacrifice it something else.

Fruitfulness of Life is a blessing of God as a result of many factors: obedience to God, good will to others, etc . But the denominator of fruitful Life is that we find favour in the sight of God

Sacrificial life or a selfless life is putting people's needs before yours. Example of a man that lived a sacrificial life is Jesus.

Reconcile the above with this:

Romans 12:1(NIV)

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrit, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your true and proper worship."

Heresies, this is why some churches today are dead. If Jesus is the example we are to follow today then everything you have typed goes contrary to his teachings. You need to repent. I know your type that lurk in churches justifying your greed and wicked deeds by preachings like this. So because you don't like giving you say Bible says it's bad to give up something valuable? Dude get out of here.
