women should strife for the abolishment of bride-price mostly in nigeria. Its demeaning to our intellectual,pe rspicacious and profound sets of women we are breeding in our 21 century. Far different from our low-class grand-mum who recieve all form of toture and maltreatment from husbands, who had no say especially when it involves getting a divorce. In the united states there is nothing like bride price. I mean why must he have to take you inexchange for a token, if hes suppose to be your friend, confidant, sex mates, soul mates.e.t.c all these qualities cant be bought with money. Human mind always have a way of concluding We own what we purchased. Yes!! That car automatically become yours becaused you paid for it, It cant be equal to you. Its your assets. Women shouldn't be assets, not to talk about our today women. Its inhumane to pay for a human. Its belittling the female folks. It isnt love. It isnt how we feel, its what men are compelled to do. And there is no two ways about it. You hear things like "dont deny him sex, he paid for it" He paid for sex? Dosnt that make our intelligent,innovative and life changing women private prostitutes? I mean hookers? In Nigeria you can't call a man who forcefully sleeps with his wife rapist. Yes!! He is taking what belongs to him. Even when she's tired and weak from the days stress. Is these what we want our daughters to face? Obviously No!! Now look at it this way. Marriage is having a partner, Who you are equal with, and not someone whose act of helping you with chores shouldn't be an obligation but a choice. If i have to pay for you to be an "help" as women are suppose to be. Aint you my maid? Think about these.
