While it remains our fundamental right to protest against perceived injustices, it also behoves upon protesters to do so within the boundaries of decent reasoning and fairness to the authorities we are protesting against.

Electricity has been a problem in this country since 'the time of imo river'. Several administrations have bled this country dry in the name of electricity, yet without any appreciable improvement in availability.

It was under our very eyes that the last administration sold PHCN to themselves in the name of PRIVATISATION. And still collected government money under a phoney bailout scheme.

For several years, Discos robbed us in broad daylight using Fixed and Meter Maintenance Charges, as well as estimated billings.

Where was NLC when all these were happening?

Before embarking on the current protest, has the NLC bothered to educate Nigerians on what it takes to deliver electricity? Have they harassed people who bypass meters?
Do they think that electricity is free or subsidised?

I think that before embarking on these protests, the responsible thing would have been to sit with Fashola and the power companies, understand the challenges of the industry, and all parties will work together in a manner that will ensure the delivery of electricity to the masses in a sustainable manner.

The power companies had announced their intention to raise tarrif months back, giving labour ample time to raise any objections in a responsible manner.

All these 'we no go gree' crusade will not get us anywhere. If u no gree, oya go do your own naa.
