We have not exhausted the law on recovery of looted wealth of Nigeria. I am in support of using illegal means to recover our money from the rogues.
It's worst for the people who are being deprived of the goodies illegally than using illegal means to take our wealth back.
Court of law is a playing ground for the big thieves. So the best way sometimes are not the best thing
Let us apply some crude law enforcement to get our money.
I understand what you mean but the reason why we practice the rule of law is so that we don't turn into a lawless society. In this case if a govt decides to use "illegal means" to fight corruption, it could quickly lead to despotism in the sense that the term and scope of "illegality" hasn't and cannot be clearly defined . You'll therefore create an extremely powerful tyrant (think Idi Amin, Mussolini, Hitler et al) who'll use the garb of corruption fighting to haunt down and most certainly kill opponents and ANY other dissenting voice. Now the onus is on we the citizenry to ask for judicial reforms and empowerment of the anti corruption agencies to fast track corruption cases. Reforms should also include commensurate punishments for different levels of corruption. This is a no brainer

Honestly Nigerians are really the architect of their own problems. We have all seen how legal methods have slowed down these change move. We have also read and heard PMB confess abt the problems he is having regarding this same change move and all these points to just one thing. LEGAL METHOD

Virtually all western countries are dirty. They didn't get there using just legal methods. Illegal played a major role and they are smilling now. Fvck legal mehn.

These criminals shouldn't even be spared. They should be hanged nake.d and their body parts should be cut one after the other.

Lol. Funny the way u comparing a developed country to Nigeria. You can easily be setup in naija and police power will out shine that of human right just because they don't operate with rules. Here if u report a police officer to his DPO, the DPO will still punish u, try am for germany.

Whether through legal or illegal means, just get our yams back from the yam eaters, by fire by force.
. if they get it back will u get 1 naira from it? will it give us constant electricity, good roads and drainage systems, good education, good lives etc. the past ones they collected, did it change our lives.

Responding to questions on the repatriation of funds stashed in European Banks, Mr. Gauck advised Nigeria to adopt a model used by Germany when they were in a similar position. He said they had used illegal means to get the information needed to track the funds.

Note the red lettered words. He said they had used illegal means to get the information needed to track the funds.

they used the so-called illegal means to get the information needed to track the funds; not to get the money back.

Nigeria situation can not change following some utopian and mere democratic rhetoric. Our Leaders should realize that Nigeria is unique and unconventional, hence 'conventional' methods have always failed. What will work for Nigeria must be unique, unconventional, and urgent.

You are a mere minority and i don't think your 5% is enough to kick out PMB,court process is too slow and those looters will keep buying time therefore government must use force to recover all the loots
How dare you questioning the president of one of the most successfull country in the world
Instead of waiting for INTERPOL,OR CIA or M16 to share information

contact WIKILEAKS,ANONYMOUS or BLACKHAT or LOLZEC,they will send all those looters information withing 24hours
You people and childish blind arrogance, By what margin did your dullard defeat Gej in the last election. Is it only the 5% that voted him in the election. If you have an iota of sence in that you ewedu cone head you would know that everybody is complaining against this cluelless administration with no economic direction. And funny enough, your lazy region who are about 70% civil servants are the worst hit. The 5% are waiting for you in their respective magnificent shops to collect their own share of your own miserable monthly salary. Leave the internet, go into the street in that your region and listen to what people are saying about this govt, they are feeling the heat more than the 5% because most of you are nothing but hunger ravaged civil servants who have been begging for the minimum wage, an amount an average shop owner in Ebonyi State can make in hourly basis talk more of Enugu, Onitsha or Alaba. Before 2019, the effect of this cluelless adm. Would make what happened in Osun state a child's play, by then it would be a state of emergency for your region, and this time not even UN aid can save you. Keep deceiving yourselves painting the wrong picture on nairaland while your people are groaning under the present economic hardship and cannot wait to vote out the chief of baboon in 2019 election.

Oga timi, are you nt in this country when Saraki and his pot-bellied lawyer were busy trying to frustrate his case through legal means? No be dis same country Ibori was cleared of 171 charges, was Lucky Igbinedor not given just N3M fine for looting Edo State blind and the worst of all, the pension thief, was not through legal means that a judge fined him N750,000 for looting pension funds?

If we can't solve the issue of corruption through legal means, we go kill am through illegal means!!

Only for the same Ibori to be convicted of 15 out of 18 charges in the UK !!! Thank you for this perfect example that highlights what is wrong with Nigeria and why Buhari must be *ahem* 'innovative' to bring looters to book. The tragedy is that Nigerians are now appearing a fraudlulent people before the world , to the extent the German President had to wade in and urge us to 'get on with it', because it seems it is the same people impoverished by the looting of Dasuki, Metuh, Tompolo et al who are now holding brief for those characters. Buhari has his work cut out for him and I can see why he made the comment about Nigerians being viewed as criminals. No non-Nigerian will come to Nairaland, view our comments and not leave believing most of us are comfortable with and even supportive of the corruption killing our nation.
