Trial of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on 13 counts of false assets declaration is to resume March 10 before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Our correspondent confirmed that the CCT issued hearing notices and served same on parties to the case on Friday.
This followed a letter written on behalf of the Federal Government by the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), intimating the tribunal of the recent judgment of the Supreme Court validating the trial.
It was learnt that Jacobs sent the letter with a copy of the Supreme Court’s judgment attached to it to the Danladi Umar-led CCT on Monday.
The Head, Press and Public Relations of the CCT, Mr. Ibraheem Al-hassan, confirmed to our correspondent that the tribunal issued and served hearing notices on the parties on Friday.
“We have issued and served the hearing notice today,” Alhassan said.

March 10 is Thursday, temp (27oC - 32oC), court begins at 10am. Lent would have entered day 30. Court room temperature to be set at 22oC. National Assembly to adjourn sitting sine die.

Ekweremadu to lead team to court premises and that Senator from Kogi to be head of Bouncers. Senate President to be docked with handcuffs.

Nemesis indeed for saraki. The guy is paying for all the financial atrocities he commited at the defunct societe general bank and as governor of kwara state. Nobody should pity him - he has no conscience when it comes to looting public money.

I believe this will serve as a warning to anyone aspiring for a post for his/her own self interest.
I will continue to say this let all these men be placed on minimum wages and also ensure they use the public facilities they provide for the people they are representing and see if corruption will not be reduce at all levels

We would not be surprised if the accused is convicted
We would not be surprised if the trial lasts forever, and
We certainly would not be surprised when plea bargaining, elders intervention, opposition's pressure or party politics takes case over
