‘And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them’ Judges 8:4

Discouragement according to the dictionary is simply defined as a loss of confidence or enthusiasm.

In the bible text above, God, through Gideon chose among from the Israelites three hundred men through whom the Midianites were defeated. It got to a point that the men were wearied, exchausted and tired to the point of getting faint but still were not discouraged. They were determined to achieve God’s purpose for them in defeating the enemy of the Israelites.
