Terrorism in Nigeria is quickly taking the form of a hydra. Cut off 1 head and have 2 more grow to replace the lost one. With the current alarming spate of murders of at least 1 known monarch in Delta state, individuals, farmers and policemen, sacking of communities, cattle rustling and their personal signature of kidnapping monarchs and other dignitaries being carried out by AK-47 wielding, dagger carrying murderous fulani herdsmen, one would rightly want to believe that the Nigerian security agencies would be quick to act to mitigate against further unprovoked attacks by this set of individuals and put an end to this madness.
Truth be told, our security operative in Nigerian and all very committed, gallant and proactive, alas, we all see these herdsmen walking around fully armed, with AK-47s, daggers, bows and arrows and other deadly weapons, yet our operatives do not make moves to stop them, even if it's to confiscate their weapons to ensure peace while they (herdsmen) go about their business.
However, one can't stop but wonder if these murderers have some spiritual/political angel(s) watching over them. Some have been granted amnesty, some killed, some allegedly been caught while we still have uncountable others roaming freely, still armed and very dangerous.
New revelations have added another twist. They aren't Nigerians. They are Malians and Chadians, according to this report http://www.punchng.com/notorious-herdsmen-are-malians-chadians-igp/... Now the blame is on our porous borders and those in charge of border control are responsible for the bloodbath these 'Malians' and 'Chadians' have unleased on unarmed, defenseless Nigerians living, working, struggling, and paying their taxes in Nigeria. Not in Mali. Not in Chad. But in Nigeria.
Today they were alleged to be sacking a community in Benue state. WHYYYYY?
Makes one want to ask - Are our security operatives really on top of this situation of defending Nigeria and Nigerians from enemies both foreign and within or is there some superior order preventing them from taking action to prevent further barbaric acts by this group of miscreants?
This is not a hate inspired write-up but I'm merely trying to seek a dialogue to seek the solution to another impending menace.
