Many likes for this post. You have aptly expressed my fears. When the executive assumes the role of the judiciary, we are heading for trouble.
DIKEnaWAR:
Very sad indeed. This government is bent on destroying the judiciary. It seems to be stopping it from hounding people into jail without trial.

Modified: These people are bent on ridiculing the Judiciary to justify their stance that the Judiciary is corrupt and an impendiment to the fight against corruption.

There is the NJC that is saddled with the responsibility of sanctioning erring Judges. This type of matter is reported to them. Not to be bandied about in an open Court. It will incite laymen who don't understand what is happening, against the Judiciary. Many erring Judges had been sanctioned and removed by the NJC without the public knowing. All an aggrieved person need to do is lodge a complaint with the NJC with evidences.

Members of the Bar also have the Legal Practitioner's Disciplinary Committee(LPDC) that takes care of erring Lawyers.

Now, judgement of the Courts that go against the government of the day, will be seen by the populace as judgements procured through bribery. This will go a long way in ridiculing the entire judicial process. People now have more faith in Buhari's judgement than Judgements flowing from the Courts.

The courts handles criminal activities like the ones these crminals participated in, not the NJC. JJC can not prosecute criminals or send convicted criminals to jail.

People like Ricky Tarfa and the judge should be suspended from the bar and their certificate of practice withdrawn.
That's one step in the right direction and all their previous cases revisited. Plus hard labour with whatever jail term they bag.

Which is exactly why the NJC should enlighten the public appropriately when it sanctions erring Judges!

Must you stand fact on its head to make a defence! The averment in that further and better are as dishonourable as they are dishonest!! These are not ministers but filibusters in the temple of justice out to deceive the court and thwart justice. Little wonder Jesus had so much not good to say about Lawyers.

I beg to disagree with you.

The corruption in the judiciary has ban on for many years now.

The case here is not directly with these judges especially but it is aimed at prosecuting the criminal case against Ricky Tafa

So far, what has been the response of the NBA?

What we saw last time was Ricky Tafaw coming to Court with about 90 lawyers largely made of SANS.

If Nigerians are supposed to take their cases to court, what is wrong if Ricky Tafa or any other judge without prejudice to the position of NJC is taken to the same court?

Or are these accused more important than the rest of us?

Even in the recent case of Justice Rita Ofili ajumogobia and the NJC judgement that she will be on the watch list for four years without promotion.

I consider that punishment a slap in the wrist.

There have been several petition against her in the past and when she has been found wanting in the last case, I really can't understand why she has not been retired now.

With this revelation against her, i can't imagine her handling my case, it will be difficult to trust her.

Anyone found wanting should be shown the way out not to be left to continue denying innocent people justice.

If more of the bad judges are exposed, it will serve as deterrent to others

The source of information in which your arguments and points are based how authentic are they? Don't you think you need to verify these stories before jumping on the social media bandwagon?

This man called Tarfa should just give up on this case, the more he tries to extricate himself, the deeper he sinks, and it's even getting messier now with more revelations coming out by the day.
If he continues to pursue this case, more terrible revelations will be made and many more corrupt practices by the judiciary will be exposed!

I actually dont pray he give up.He should continue and name other collaborators in order to bring more of his corrupt " colleagues in chamber" down with him.

He shouldn't go down alone. In Nigeria it is a knowm fact that they are occultic and deep in occultic practises from the early '70s. They are the top brasses in Nigerian Police Force.

I normally don't use my business account to comment on social media. But, I think your argument lacks reason and substance. And indirectly, you are insinuating that the Judiciary is sacrosant and Government should watch as criminals, corrupt Judges and their cohorts in the legal profession desecrate the institution known to be "...the last hope of the common man."

My dear you have erred terribly in your presentation.

The bedrock of our democracy is the rule of law and that means we have to have an independent judiciary, judges who can make decisions independent of the political winds that are blowing. - Caroline Kennedy

We say we practice democracy and graduate hundreds of lawyers every year but those same lawyers enter the arena with hope and wide eyed optimism only to find out what the status quo is and they fall in line allowing the viciously corrupt cycle to continue. If we want Nigeria to succeed and I don't mean on paper, we need proper legal reform

From an educational standpoint, ethics must be taught and taken seriously in school and even in the courts, harsh punishments for members of the judicial system who are corrupt and or unethical.

Judges must be clean before lawyers will be clean
lawyers will be clean before police can become clean
police must become clean before it can properly enforce the law
once the law is enforced, prison will become a serious issue
which will then force the citizenry to behave

only then will we have a country we will be truly proud of

is it american bar OR WHICH BAR will suspend the guy?.wish someone can really do an independent investigation/research into all the tentacles of this ugly scenario.it is far much more deeper that it is thought and it is a corrupt system deeply entrenched and has been on for decades.they operate more like a mafia and has wide tentacles.ONLY GOD FIT CATCH THEM.
