The power is in the hands of the electorate but they don't even know it.

Most of them when they win the election relocate to Abuja and you do not hear from them until the next campaign starts and then they come bearing bags of rice and fake promises!

If the member of the house of representative or senator representing your constituency is not doing that which he or she ought to be doing (representing), then you reserve the right to recall such representative and send someone who will do the right thing in their stead.

This is not a foreign law it is our law as contained in the Nigerian Constitution.

Chapter Five section 110 of the Nigerian constitution says

A member of the House of Assembly may be recalled as such a member if –

(a) there is presented to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission a petition in that behalf signed by more than one-half of the persons registered to vote in that members’s constituency alleging their loss of confidence in that member; and

(b) the petition is thereafter, in a referendum conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission within ninety days of the date of the receipt of the petition, approved by a simple majority of the votes of the persons registered to vote in that member’s constituency.


There is a reason they don't want you to know such law exists!

I'd like to submit a petition for the Recall of Senator Emmanuel Bwacha Representing Taraba South Senatorial district.

This man is so Arrogant, has grown stupendously rich and only comes home 3 months to elections to doll out a million bucks for our youths to fight over.

He's been at the senate for 5 years now with NOTHING to show for it. Not encouragement for our local farmers, not conflict resolution and no Federal infrastructure has been lobbied by him!

Just A Failure!

and true Democratic power belongs to the people and not the elected.

Frankly the recall process is studious and laborious, in fact it is highly difficult to get the percentage accents of registered voters required to effect the recall so it is nearly an impossible mission.

Those that makes the law know why they raised the bar to protect their impunity and misrepresentation, so let us not be carried away.
The present article of recall needs repeal if the NASS members are to be taken seriously.

With these conditions, No representative will be recalled. Amendment!
