An Egypt Air flight from Alexandria to Cairo which was hijacked in the early hours of Tuesday, has landed in Lanarca, Cyprus.
The plane, an Airbus A320, was carrying 81 passengers, when a hijacker informed the pilot that he was wearing an explosive vest and ordered the flight which was scheduled toland in Cairo at 7:15 am, diverted to Cyprus.
Latest reports have it that all but five of the passengers have been released. The remaining five are believed to be Britons. The British Embassy in Cyprus is investigating reports that those left on board are its nationals.
