see some people mentality is worst than derange man. Most of those are religious fanatics , they will prefer their children marry from either catholic or anglican then their own state , this is common to illiterate from anambra.

So it's a fact that igbos discriminate these much among themselves? Yet you want to form your country. Quite sad!

All though, it's vice versa, if u go against their will and marry, u might end up seeing wot they av foreseen even before u married the guy. You might be considering the present while they are looking at possible future of the marriage due to their experiences and at d same time u might go after ur heart and able to prove them wrong. Bt my advise to you is to seek God's decision about it first. If it's God's will, it takes God nothing to make your parents support you. Bt parents' consent is so important in marriage. Think twice and put God first.

OP, I am very sorry,i had to use this stereotype. Even though it is not always true.

Imo state in particular, owerri people(around owerri) are perceived to be promiscuous,(majority of them, both men and women). I really don't know how true this is, but my sis got married to an owerri man, even though not living in naija, I was discussing with one of my ex(from orlu) and when I told her my sister is marrying thier brother(imolite) she was like, which side? I said owerri, to my surprise, she said, hmmm, ur sis don enter oh,owerri men no sabi care for their wives and they are promiscuous too.

I was like, well, my sister's hubby is different. The truth is, I have heard it from so many people, even from the same imo.


Den, from mbaise, those people? Over sense and stingyness de worry them. Their is this general perception that a stingy man or over sense man(itk) can't take care of a woman, they blatantly refuses to see to her needs, not that they can't solve it, but stinginess no go gree dem.

sorry to use d word fool. but some parents are fools. i know of a lady who is close to 35k. d bf proposed when she was about 29. the mum (Yoruba) said lai lai she can never marry igbo. later we will say whites are racist.

before I comment I want to ask if the girl is the ADA as in first daughter because I know most parents do want their first boy/girl child closer to home and persuade them to marry from the same state not that am in support of that sha.
