Our senators From Southeast and SouthSouth are not serious. A project like this should be a priority even though, it was not included by the minister of Transportation.

What a shame.

All what we are witnessing today is just PDP laying the groundwork for 2019 blackmails and propaganda.

They'd rather have any good federal project sited in their dominated areas withdrawn so as to make the government look bad and give credence to their preferred mode of politicking- division along ethnic and religious lines.

Honestly, I feel some people simply need to be eliminated for us to move forward in this country. This is just appalling!!

Despite d fact that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Hon. Owan Enoh is a Cross Riverian and Hon. Chris Agibe representing Boki/Ikom Constituency is also a member of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation..why??

The way dey run dis national assembly is very funny, some senators are now saying they were not aware of d full details, if they don't play dis game very well, the leadership of NASS may loose it's members support.

There is no way they can be aware of everything in a 1800 page document. Their job will be for each one to focus a bit on their constituencies and regions. Then maybe other areas of interest e.g. if I love aviation stuff, I might try to look at what is going on there. Even the picture of Buhari reading through the budget was ridiculous! That's why professionals are brought in to go through all the minute details

This is an example of missplaced priority...why build a lagos to calabar rail when even 20% of that money can be used to build a world class port in calabar and port harcourt..who want to travel from lag to calabar on a train....or of what do you hope to bring into calabar from lagos that cannot be brought in through the sea.
The yoruba oligarchy have decided to ensure that the south south never get a port so that people will not leave lagos and the innefectual buffon after 6yrs in power could not even build one port in his home region.
The only way for igbos to leave lagos is to build a port in the south south, complete the onitsha inland port and all industries in lagos will move with it and lagos shall cease to be no mans land and go back to the binis or yorubas and it will join the degeneracy of the rest of the waste..

You are yarning balls

Do you think this train will just go from Lagos to Calabar straight?

Do you know how many states it would go through before getting to Calabar?

Do you know how many states will benefit from this rail?

Do you know that transportation by rail carries lots of goods and is quite secure?

Try to always think before commenting angry

I wouldn't be surprised if the Calabar-Lagos rail wasn't included in the budget to start with afterall boooooohari made it very clear that he's only President to the regions that voted him. I don't think I can believe Ameachi either, the one who stopped the ongoing Maritime University project in the South, now claims to be fighting for a rail line down South? It just doesn't add up

Why cant this government get things right once and for all?
They had almost 6 months to prepare this budget?
Why cant the original budget contain all proposed projects once and for all?
cant this government do just one thing without creating controversy

Though I find it very hard to believe that the south PDP have the numbers to vote down or stop any motions, bills or the budget their continued silence on this important matter is indicting and indicative of the fact that they play politics with the welfare of the penple they represent which will backfire badly. The APC has the high moral ground here am afraid.

It was never included in the original budget submitted. But was included later after the budget had been submitted, and now the presidency is making it look like the senate are padding the budget

Its obvious you don't understand the Nigeria business terrain.
Let them build the world largest deep sea port in Calaba and/or anywhere it remains an annex to Lagos.
When last did you visit Lekki Free Trade Zone?
You need visit where things are happening and not relying on beer parlour gist.

The plot is to expand Lagos Economy, so the original intention wasn't to do good to South-South and South East.

That is why the West are the once shouting and complaining, why the South and East are not even bothered.

If Bubu has decided to remember the 5%, then he should complete the second Niger bridge and build the Calabar port

Eventually still dependent on Lagos a port built in calabar and onisha would diversify the region more better

Your ascertain that Lagos will become what ?
Lagos has always been a commercial hub for south Sahara! It got a stage that in 1887 Lagos was connected to London and environs by telephone. Where were the Igbos and what we're their contributions to Sub Sahara region.
A new deep water sea port construction is on going in cross river as I speak!
And Akwa Ibom past administration made us to believe they are developing a deep sea port in Ibaka! There is equally Free trade zone both in Calabar and Onne, and these states has been under PDP rule in the last ten years who are they waiting for to Dredge Escravos to Warri river to access both new and old port in Warri and the Sapele port, Koko port and give wider options to Impoters and exporters alike.
We rise above this tribal and parochial mind set and learn how to put the blames in the appropriate quarter.
