seunlayi: Will you people stop making cracks about that promise....and go and face the fact that since 1956....Southern Nigeria has not been able to build a refinery from scratch. Or that Nigerian companies are not ready to even develop the technology to build refineries. You people just want to chop oil money. You do not want development. You are still angry about an election that held ages ago....because it means that your opportunities for eating have been lost to the North. Well.....you and your northern pals better face facts. The era of oil is over. It was fun while it lasted...but now...whether together or apart...we must use our brains, stop blaming other people...and work for our development. No more money to chop. 1 Like |

So sad. Oil price crash dealing blows to not only national but personal "economies". About 25% of staff laid off in my company recently. Fortunate not to be affected, but a good number of friends affected. No bonus (for the first time in my 8 years career). All due to oil price crash. And in faraway Middle East, those that can help save the situation are flexing muscles. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kachikwu stop wasting your time, after Saudi has used our president to fight their proxy war against Shittes, you do nt expect the Shia Iran to come to agreement with the Wahabbi/Sunni govt of Saudi. I thought Saudi Arabia wld ve lend some interest free loan to their beloved Buhari/Nigeria who the led into an Islamic coalition against terrorism.....atleast to cushion the effect of the recession just like China did. 1 Like |

If not that Saudi Arabia is a stupid country, Iran not agreeing or to be part of the agreement on oil out freeze shouldn't be an issue. Even Russia, who is not part of OPEC, has decided to cut output. Which to me, is a plus to country like Nigeria. Iran not accepting to join the agreement is no issue, Saudi Arabia is just looking for a way to disrupt the whole process. 2 Likes 1 Share |

People should understand that the Saudis never wanted a freeze. Funny as this may sound, the Saudis dont want the price to rise. Yes it hurts them but a price rise will lead to more shael oil producers coming back to the market, which will bring the price of Oil lower. Not only that, they then give away market share to the shale producers. Don't forget there was a time the US stopped buying Oil from us...that was because the US shale producers were producing so much Oil they did not need our crude. The Saudis are the only smart people in the room who can see that the era of high Oil is over, so better to share the low price amongst OPEC. One by one shale producers are closing wells because of the low price of Oil, if you freeze or cut production, the price of Oil rises and the shale producers become viable again, more oil on the market bringd down the price of crude. It's a no win situation so get used to low Oil either way....the Saudis know this. Other countries that have not been prident or saved, like Nigeria, venezuela and Russia are the ones panicking to the point where simple economics and common sense is eluding them. The party is over!!!! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hmmmm This is the time, We really need to rise and look beyond oil. We need to look into other areas, like agriculture, tourism, mining etc. Use the remaining money to build atleast one (1) refinery. |
