Ahh... well whad'yano, the Shi'a and Sunni nations holding the OPEC to ransome eh?

US$40/bbl +/- is it then for the near future with 9ja barely breaking even à la benchmark in the ever changing, confusing, padded #Budget2016.

And with no clear-cut economic direction from the FGN, companies esp those in the petroleum industry would def have to re-run their economics and re-test their respective projects' NPV, IRR, PBP et al sensitivities.

I hail o. You be petroleum economist or which one?

Well the joke is on them, because while they're busy gauging the length of their oily deeks, our President is aggressively pursuing diversification efforts to move us away from dependency on the plagued oil.
By pumping billions of naira searching for elusive oil in the North East, how much did he budget for agriculture and mining compare to information ministry?

You are the dull one.

1. For believing that he can actually stabilize oil prices in the first place.

2. For think Obama would say "are you NNPC?". It is "are you Opec?", not NNPC.
Go and sleep, dullard!

Time to industrialize.

Oil is dead.

It is time we used our brains to work and work.

Oil is not going to resurrect.

Don't be stupid. Oil cannot die in the next 200 years to come. Do you even know the by-products of crude oil?

I wish I was. Technology is developing at a fast rate....and what even scares me is the way green tech is developing.

But the main thrust of my argument is the idea we can earn much from oil. We cannot. Oil is becoming cheaper because everyone is now discovering oil (Not just the US). Oil is not going to go above $100 per barrel again.

Nigeria's unity was built on oil. Now that oil is becoming worthless, we will see the false unity unravel in the coming years.

Well...in 1982...oil prices crashed....and stayed low till 2003.

Nigeria did not break up then.

It did not break up because one section of the country through military dictatorship was pointing a gun down the head of everybody else. Most of the stolen oil money also happened during that period. Nobody could complain and any resistance was brutal to the locals.

The oil issue is becoming too much! Let us look into other means like agriculture.
