Enugu Community On Fire! by kellyJames5(m): 1:07am On Apr 18, 2016
The Alor-uno community of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State has been on fire getting to two weeks now, destruction of properties being the order of the day
The Ugbene people and Ejuona people makes up the community, and there is a cultural belief in the community that the Ugbene people are "Osu's"this has been causing serious problems between the two clans. Of recent, precisely two weeks ago,a funeral activity was held in Amadi village of the said community in Ejuona clan and few days after the program, the Ugbene youth went on rampage.

Firstly, they went to the family were the program was held in the night, they shattered the glass of the Lexus jeep of one of the sons of the family and also a Volkswagen golf. They almost killed the father of the house as they inflicted serious matchete injuries on him.

Secondly, they went to the house of a woman identified as Mama Ife, they collected her money and burnt her shop. They went to Ekoyi village, to the shop of one Miss Ngozi and burnt her shop. They also went to Ogbueke village and burnt two cars. They went to Ugbene-Enu village and shattered the whole glass of a house.
As of yesterday afternoon, they went to Amadim village to the house of one Mr Uche and shattered the glasses.

The most painful part is that these boys carry out this acts sometimes in the presence and company of the Police.

Personally me as Christian, i don't believe in Osu system because God created us all equal but is violence the way to go about it? definitely not!.
what baffles me is that Nsukka Area command of Nigerian police is a stone throw from this community but instead of doing their work, they chose to be the case of"who pays the piper dictates the tone".

So, this is an appeal to Enugu state commissioner of police and the GOC 82 division Enugu to quickly intervene in the matter to avoid further loss of properties and most importantly, lives as Ejuona youths are already thinking of a way to protect themselves and also carry out reprisal attack. Please if not for anything, at least for the sake of the little children and old people in the community that will suffer most if anything like war ensues between these clans.

Every thing here in this write up is nothing but the truth and is verifiable.

Do they not have community heads that can put heads together and trash out the issue and avoid loss of heads?
This story looks somehow headless though

.

what they have there is Leadership by Elders (gerontocracy)
in every village in Ejuona clan, the eldest man in their midst will be their leader and even the Igwe of community is also well advanced in age.
so, much progress can not be made depending on the leadership.
