I'm sure you'll get support, I for one am a strict rock over, if it's good, then you just might be the start of something big.

Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by IBEXY(m): 1:35pm On Nov 19, 2006

music is all about selling records
how many people enjoy rock music in naija.
u have to target the biggest audience.
i love rock when it plays on the telly or radio
but i can't see myself buying the cd
you can still do well in other areas and as a real musician you have to be versatile
if u can only do rock, then u need to improve further
a voice good for rock can as well do rap, highlife, raga, pop
If u still doubt me, ask yourself:
WHO ARE THE BEST SELLING NAIJA MUSICIANS FOR THE LAST 10 YRS.
WHAT BRAND OF MUSIC ARE THEY INTO ?
answer those questions, and u will know what am saying.
would you do what you like and have 100 dedicated fans or an unlimited fan base by singing what people want.
shine ya eye o
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 7:10pm On Nov 19, 2006

Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by justkunmi(m): 12:39pm On Nov 20, 2006
thats the spirit girl.

if wat u want to do is rock, pls ROCK ON.

because there are no rock musicians in naija makes it a fertile ground for u to start. u are a new artiste offering nigerians something new, ---i bet you, if u are original, u will see instant fame and reception.
i'll really love a nigerian rock artist, I listen to evanesence, avril, kelly clarkson, and all .twould be swell to see a nigerian offer wat they are offering,

ROCK ON GURL
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 8:16pm On Nov 20, 2006
Thanks Justkunmi grin
i will def Rock on, bt i wld like suggestions
on whut Nigerians feel best, as per music
i am more of christian and inspirational
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by justkunmi(m): 9:12pm On Nov 20, 2006
depends on wat u really want. u can go the christain rock way like switchfoot. u an also play inspirational. it all depends on u.
but i think nigerians would first appreciate the slow rock kinda thing b4 anythin hard.-
b4 startin off, do a lil research on wat people would really like. but i think the slow inspirational rock tunes should come first.

really feelin u.
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by iice(f): 4:51pm On Nov 21, 2006

Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by justkunmi(m): 12:14pm On Nov 22, 2006

and when do u plan to come out?
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by Gamine(f): 12:32pm On Nov 22, 2006
no i dont have one
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by gbadex1(m): 12:50pm On Nov 22, 2006
@ gamine,

if you're looking for producers, there's Jeremiah Gyang and Age Beeka, tho they both based in Jos and Abuja. And if u're for the kinda rock Coldplay do, maybe Cobhams would do. The Dude's got a flair for acoustics.

And if u want to go into Heavy Metal like Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden or Metallica, then i suggest u meet with my friend David, also known as His Royal Madness. Caution though. When coming, pls make u bring strait jackets, hypodermic needles, anti-depressants, sleep-inducing drugs, and also the emergency phone number for Yaba Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, incase he gets "fired up" and all looney.
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by justkunmi(m): 1:22pm On Nov 22, 2006
don't scare the rock out of her.

@gamine
u have to speak to someone who knows his onions bout this kind of stuff.
its kind of new in nigeria so not many people would have first hand info bout it.
just be careful because of fakes out there.
i'll be waitin 2 hear u rock,  . . . . .
Re: Future Of Rock Music In Nigeria by magneto(m): 6:35pm On Nov 22, 2006
