11 Nigerian Students, A Local Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Drug Trafficking
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Eleven Nigerian students and a local woman, believed to be involved in drug trafficking, were arrested by police during four separate raids in the klang valley early this morning.

All suspects, in their 20s, were arrested by the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division.

During the first raid at a condominium in Subang Jaya at 6am, police found a Nigerian with 1kg of heroin and 98 capsules believed to be heroin, weighing 1kg, he told Bernama.

Following the arrest, police raided another condominium in Petaling Jaya, 30 minutes later and arrested four more Nigerians and a local woman, but no drugs were found.

He said the woman, believed to be the companion of one of the suspects.

In a subsequent raid at a condominium in Sentul, an hour later, police arrested five more Nigerian men believed to be associated with those arrested earlier.

At 8am, another Nigerian man was arrested in Nilai at 8am.

According to sources, the modus operandi of the group was to swallow the capsules containing drugs and later excrete them before selling the drugs to users.

"The method is to avoid detection by the authorities, he said.

Meanwhile, Bukit Aman Narcotics Division director Datuk Zulhasnan Najib Baharudin who confirmed the arrests said investigations were still going on.
