Why The Government Not Saving Is Not The Problem In Nigeria. by lawani: 1:34pm On May 16, 2016
Nigeria can easily have a budget worth 200 billion dollars pa if we want since there are 180 million people in the country. We know how much beer is consumed per annum, cigarettes and etc in the country. If you are drinking as much beer and champagne as Germany and the United Kingdom, it is indicative of the volume of dispensable income in the country Nigeria. Then 200 billion dollars in Nigeria can do what 800 billion dollars can not do in the United Kingdom. So let us just say Nigeria is capable of raising government revenue to one trillion dollars equivalent per annum immediately, just by organising within a few months. That is the truth but we have like 40 billion dollars a year budget and you are saying we should have saved? That is like a man earning 50 thousand naira a month being asked to save when he has 30 or more people in his household. Such an advise to such a man is not well thought out and did not come from someone paying attention.

That is the simple reason why you can not blame those who insisted no money must be saved but everything shared. They insisted on the reasonable thing. Let the country fall down so the people can be free.
