Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has come under severe criticism by residents of the commercial hub of the state, Onitsha. Traders and residents staged a protest in the city of Onitsha against what they termed 'over taxation' by Obiano's administration.The protesters asked Gov. governor Obiano to step down or be impeached.They also accused him of "killing and milking them of their daily struggle". Anambra state is one of the few states that are considered financially viable as it does not depend on 'bail-out' from the federal government to pay workers' salaries even at a time when not less than 26 out of the 36 states are struggling with multiple months of unpaid salaries.
