Youths leaders from seven North West states of Kebbi , Kaduna , Katsina , Kano , Sokoto , Jigawa and Zamfara converged in Kebbi yesterday and expressed their support for the withdrawal of fuel subsidy by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The one day interactive meeting was declared open by the Kebbi State deputy governor , Alh. Samaila Yombe Dabai at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Birnin Kebbi. Speakers at the gathering resolved to support the withdrawal of fuel subsidy and liberalising the oil sector .

In his remarks at the occasion, APC national zonal youth leader Barrister Shehu Marshal, highlighted the importance of youths and women in national development and urged governments at all levels to support them through viable policies especially in agriculture.

The APC national zonal women leader , Barrister Aishatu Kaita, said that the agricultural sector can adequately employ women and youths to engage in meaningful economic activity.

“ If you employ youths through agriculture they cannot engage in drug taking or social vices”. She also advised the youths against engaging in protest or demonstration against removal of fuel subsidy.

Also in her remarks, the APC women leader in the state, Hajiya Tsahara Bawa called on women to embrace agriculture to support their families.

She commended Kebbi State government for its agricultural programme and support to youths in the state.

The deputy governor, Alh. Samala Dabai Yombe said that the state government attaches great importance to youth development while promising that the state government will fulfill its campaign promises to the people of the state. He called on the youths in the state to engage in farming as well as shun all forms of vices.
