10 reasons Why What Is Happening In Venezuela will happen In Nigeria by holllandis: 11:20pm On May 29, 2016
Oil accounts for about 95% of Venezuela's export revenues and was used to finance some of the government's generous social programmes which, according to official figures, have provided more than one million poor Venezuelans with homes.

But prices for Venezuelan oil have plummeted. They almost halved from an average of $88 per barrel in 2014 to $45 in 2015.

By 13 May 2016, they had fallen to $35 per barrel.
The low oil price means that the government does not have the amount of dollars in its coffers it once had.

This in turn is a problem because Venezuela's economy is not at all diverse.

The country grows and produces very little except oil and has historically relied on imports to feed its people.

A lack of dollars means it is struggling to import all the goods its people need and want.

that have been our saving grace .some Nigerians don't understand .it all over in all oil producing countries. The only difference is that they are all cushioning the effect with the saving and reserve they kept during the time of boom. unfortunately we either refuse to save or stole what was left. what happen in the Bible with Joseph, pharaoh dream and Egypt is what we are experiencing. The difference we failed to prepare for the years of drought when we hard surplus in terms of our crude selling at $145.same is happening in Venezuela. Angola saved a total of $120bn,algeria$155bn. This are countries we produced more than during the same period.

Our land is well blessed. If oil fails, we have our land to provide for us. Nigeria has abundant solid natural resources, to which if we harness this solid minerals, we'll earn a lot of foreign exchange from it.

@op AGRICULTURE still account to over 60%of our GDP in other words agriculture provide jobs and work to over 60% of Nigerian directly and indirectly while oil and gas is 93% of our foreign exchange but 13% of our GDP, every village from north to south depend and thrived on farming, its this grace by God that allows stealing of public fund with impunity in Nigeria to be possible. because most Nigerians depend on hard work in their farms and markets not on government salaries or contracts, by this grace Nigeria will wax stronger if the government will help diversify the economy

None of these countries have a population of 180m , ethnically and religiously divided, with 36 States and 36 governors running to the centre every month for money.

Also, none of these other countries had been engaged in protracted war of insurgency for the last several years.

That's Nigeria for you.

Don't forget that we are also running the most expensive democracy in the world, with our legislators making more than $2m per year.

Our system of government is non-sustainable , and almost programmed to leave the common citizenry hopeless.

‪#‎Buhari‬, A Prodigal Son. ‪#‎BuhariWasted365Days‬.
For President Buhari and his supporters, they thought that this day will Never come. Anniversary of Buhari's one Year In Office.
Buhari was handed over:-
- $30billion in our Foreign Reserves,
- $2.5billion Sovereign Wealth Fund,
- $1.4billion in the ECA,
- $4.65b back taxes from NLNG.
- Buhari met an approved budget of N4.5trillion Budget.
Received Below within a year,
- $2.7billion collected by Inland Revenue in his first 8 months.
- $2.1billion world bank loan.
- $850million Grants from UK, USA and Europe.
- Excluding crude oil sales, Joint Venture profits, Royalties, Income from Customs, NIMMSA, NPA, NACHO ......
A year have passed this morning.
1] Not a kilometer of road was constructed,
2] Not a watt of Electricity generated,
3] Not a Ward was added to any Hospital in Nigeria.
4] Not a job space was created, excepted the CBN job he shared with his cronies.
5] Not a grain of Corn or tomatoes seed was Provided to our farmers. [Fertilizer subsidy taken away and handed back to ex-military men],
6] 41 foreign companies mostly in service industry left the country.
7] 4.3 Million jobs lost in 10months - National Bureau of Statistics.
8] Food scarcity last experienced in Nigeria between 1983 to 1985 returned back to the country.
9] War on Corruption turned to war against his perceived enemies, any conviction by EFCC are cases meticulously started by previous govt(s). Buhari only win cases on pages of Newspapers.
10] Nigeria dropped from No.1 Investment destination in Africa to No.27 before South Sudan.
11] African Biggest economy shrink from a GDP of about 7% to -0.36%, the fastest decline in the world since record begins.
12] No.3 fastest growing economy in the world to No.83 in 365days.
13] WAR ON TERROR.
The last 3 LGAs under Boko Haram in Feb 2015, Abadam, Kala-Balge and Gwoza where all recovered before the general election and Buhari's ill-advised policy of banning Road blocks lead to Boko haram recovering more LGAs and have the potency to attack.
Buhari have all on his hand to succeed, but the extravagant President squandered all the funds, goodwill, and only delivered hardship to Nigerians in his first ‪#‎365days‬.
As the Biblical Prodigal son, Buhari ‪#‎Wasted‬ all the Ntrillion handed over to him. His Body language, Lies and Propaganda lost its potency about 6 months ago as the pains of his incompetence is felt by both the 97% and 5%.
NO EXCUSE IS ENOUGH, HE WASTED THE 365DAYS.

APC should work and stop the blame game!

That is nothing but innuendo.

Politicians are usually corrupt.
Nigerian politicians are more corrupt than others. Have always been.

Every regime since 1960 has been corrupt in one way or another, including GEJ regime.
Perhaps you're too young to appreciate that.

But to scapegoat GEJ regime for the national ills of Nigeria is an exercise in delusion.
It is this habitual delusions that doesn't allow us, each and everyone, to do proper reflection.
Instead, we keep scapegoating, just to defer and deflect our responsibilities for the distorted system we run.

Corruption is a NIGERIAN thing, not a GEJ, PDP or APC thing.
Until we treat CORRUPTION as corruption, and not look for individual scapegoats, CORRUPTION will always remain with us, whether it's PDP today or APC tomorrow.

Power generation capacity hit 6,000MW under Jonathan n power generation is expensive!
Boko haram war warranted that money b released to fight it but saboteurs of d war(and GEJ govt.) looted d money and they deserve prosecution!
