The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, says though the 2019 general elections might seem far, the commission does not have the luxury of time.
He, therefore, advised its officials, especially those involved in operations and logistics, on early preparation and planning.

Yakubu spoke in Lagos, yesterday, while declaring open a workshop for INEC operations and logistics officers, organized by the commission, in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
Represented by a national commissioner, Dr. Muhammed Lecky, Yakubu disclosed that the commission has no more than 400 days to the next general elections if weekends and holidays were deducted.
“This is therefore the most appropriate time to begin the post-2015 electoral cycle. Hence, this workshop couldn’t have been any timelier,” he said.

The non partisan members of the society must rise up against these antics and move against the bull by its horn. .
