Army officers affected by the President Buhari’s ethnic cleansing in the
military have declared that the recent retirement exercise embarked upon
by the military was an act of vendetta and smacked of ethnic cleansing.
The officers said some of them served in states where the ruling All
Progressives Congress (APC) lost to the opposition Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections.
They have vowed to challenge their retirement in court stating that
contrary to the position of the military authorities, they were not given
fair hearing as they were never invited to any board of inquiry.
The affected soldiers said they carried out their constitutional duties
and neither had any business with the 2015 general elections nor the
defence contracts noting that non of them had been invited to the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for any reason.
The group contended that some of the affected officers served as GOCs and
brigade commanders mostly from the South East and South South
geo-political zones, an area President Buhari famously said contributed 5
percent of votes during the last elections and should not expect the same
treatment as those that gave him 95 percent.
“Look at the list of those retired. These are brigade commanders, GOCs
and commanding officers, who served in all the states lost by the APC to
PDP. What is our offence? Would we have forced the people to vote for
candidates other than their choice?
“Thank God, this is democracy and we have a right to be heard. They have
done their bit but many of us have decided, we are going to fight this
injustice in court.
“Some people cannot just arrogate power to themselves and ruin the careers
of other persons who have given their all to the nation,” some of the
victims said.
Speaking in Abuja, Defence Minister, Mansur Mohammed Dan Ali, said “there
is political will under the Buhari administration to transform the armed
forces.
“Of recent, most of the functions of the police had been taken over by the
military. But we cannot just go and take away the armed forces from the
streets. It has to be a gradual process. “2015 election duties were not
our responsibility. Our duties were only to support the police. The
military was involved in too much professional corruption by way of
partisanship. We were not to be seen near polling stations”, he said.

Everyone has a right to fair hearing. If any of the retired officers feels slighted, the courts have not shut their doors.

Buhari is -1.
Not good for anything.
He is a curse to anything he touches.
I strongly believes that if that man leaves that office today(whether by natural or unnatural means), the price of naira will start growing against the dollar, oil price(even internationally) will start improving, power supply will become more stable.
The man just has a negative spiritual force on him. He took power in 1983 and in 10months the nation was grounded to a halt. Now he's barely a year and every area has entered the reverse gear.

They are paving ways to islamise this country. Nigeria can never be Turkey. Everyone of them planning it shall die, one after the other. The last one of them shall live to tell their story.

The court still remains the bastion of human rights. That is the only place they can seek redress for their dismal.

"I am for nobody; I am for everybody." ... May 29, 2015. This was apparently the only reasonable statement President Muhammed Buhari made during his inaugural speech.

Less than one year down the line, every Nigerian - both WAILERS and HAILERS know that he was being economical with the truth. He is indeed "FOR SOMEBODY"! PMB is for APC!

It is unacceptable for APC-led government to go about sacking people just because they are perceived to have worked for opposition party.

This is how Buhari will ruin his only chance at fixing Nigeria (of course he lacks the capacity to do just that). Too late for the Septuagenarian to be reasonable and allow for healthy opposition!

What offence did Col TonyeT. Minimah commit apart from being a brother to former Chief of Army Staff Lt General Kenneth Minimah, and also having Rivers State as his home state.

What offence did Maj Gen Letam Wiwa commit from from being a brother to late Ogoni environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, who was murdered by Gen Sani Abacha. Maj Gen Letam Wiwa is also having his career ended just for coming from Rivers State.

This is the dividend Rotimi Amaechi is delivering to his home state as a member of the ruling party inner caucus.

Other officers like Lt Col F.D. Kayode is pushed out of the army for serving in Gombe, a state APC could not win.

These fine officers were not involved and were never mentioned in any of the Dasuki armed scandals or election matters.

The world is watching, and people from these areas are watching this ethnic cleaning in a grand-scale.

Nigerians, have you seen the effects of illiteracy and narrowmindedness ?

I feel this sudden selective military retirements is unconnected with Niger Delta militancy and fear of a full blown war.

Forget the elections. Its more than one year gone. I smell intentions from miles away. If it had to do with elections, he would have sacked them 5 months into his tenure.

What he fails to understand is the difference between democracy and military govt..
