It just shows how far Nigeria is from civilzation and common sense.

This should serve as a pointer to the fanatics and zombies of "one Nigeria". Referendum is a democratic instrument of letting people decide their sovereignty. No union is a permanent thing, no marriage is final. Therefore, if any of the ethnic nationalities that Lord Lugard forced into the illegal Union called Nigeria in 1914, such as my fellow Igbos, want to leave as a separate country, they should also be given a referendum

That is why they are called the ZOO .

They don't behave as humans do.
They are so uncivilized and obsolete in actions.
That's why Trump suggested we get recolonised.

So why is a referendum on the U.K. national identity taking place during a major European soccer tournament?

Those making comparison
Did those that spearheaded the campaign antagonize or blackmail d reigning govt?
Do they have a 'Biafra' radio that primarily specialises in blackmailing
Did their Kanu foreign based and sneaked into d country?
Did d agitators of secesion call d UK a zoo?
Was their 'Buhari' insulted by d campaigners of secession?
Answer those questions and compare approaches

The reason why I'm always against this call for Biafra is just coz they were silent all through GEJ's tenure only to surface when power left the southern region..

You are on point to an extent. I think Nigeria can be describe to be a zoo because we are amalgated..., but I condemn in strong terms the abusive words by kalu. even though I support Baifra

This is what civilized people do.
They come together, brainstorm and decide to leave or stay by voting.
We saw the same with the Scottish referendum.
No insults, no name calling of other people and above all no soliciting for weapons
Good luck to the civilized people of UK - the world will always take them seriously.
u don't know what they have done to themselves.... The reasonable ones life Londoners,Scott and Irish voted against the move, but the ignorant rural Brits vote for breakup..... Redirect xpect Scotland, n.ireland to break up from UK.

My friend, bother nobody with this Biafra gospel. Didn't you see how the UK conducted themselves in the most civilized manner? Did they threatened EU with war if they don't get their referendum? Did they go about cursing everybody in Europe? Where they staging silly protests, thereby constituting themselves as nuisance? These and many more are the questions you need to ask yourself.

You have representatives in the NA, the house of reps, you have governors, state assemblies, political elites, leaders etc. These are the people that should be at the forefront of your Biafra agitation and not some silly illiterates that are only good in using a pirated radio station to curse everybody
What has your current president done with the confab , which was more or less a form of referendum that was put together by respected ethnic leaders in Nigeria? He sent it to the dustbin.
A country where citizens were shot at for protesting for their right to independence is the same country you expect to follow the path of legislative lobbying like the united kingdom.? I wonder the kind of education the south west dishes it out to its people. You are either an unscrupulous human being or not very rational.

it is Nigerians fault and the rest of the nations that refused to implement good governance they have put pressure on civilized nations via immigration ..Britain is now tired of Africans coming via Europe to Britain ..that's the truth ...why can't other countries be developed like UK

My question is if they eventually leave EU, will EPL( premier league) still be participating in the UCL??(Champions league) cuz champions league is mainly for european countries!!!!!

Russia and Turkey are not part of European Union but they play uefa championship. This doesn't mean Britain isn't an European country but rather European Union.

True. lived in the UK in those years that EU migrants flooded the tiny island from poorer EU countries. They basically took all jobs that no one else would do. i saw africans and asians losing their survival jobs to EU nationals despite the fact that most of them couldn't speak a word in english, but they had an advantage cos they needed no work visa.

i watched as universities stopped funding non-EU nationals for msc and phd courses as they had enough applications from EU nationals. Jobs were exported to poorer EU nations cos of cheap labour, hence manufacturing industries closed down.

Highly skilled workers moved in from greece, spain, portugal, italy e.t.c to take top jobs in the financial industries, and unemployed highly skilled britons felt betrayed. Yet, the UK was one of the biggest contributors to the EU project. Germany is next. These two are the sole reason why the EU exist cos of their strong economies.

The prospect of turkey joining the EU by 2020 was the final nail on the coffin. An islamic country of over 75 million people where wages are as low as $2/hr. Alot of people were scared that the UK would become flooded by turkish migrants. lol.
Good analysis

The agitation to leave the EU further worsened due to the migrant crisis of Syria and other Arabs flooding to the UK,Germany and other countries.

This is the beginning of the downfall of the EU.. other nations are also considering leaving .. e.g. Italy, France and the Netherlands.

This I feel, is a good decision made by Britons. But it's consequences are there but will be overcomed in a short term

Nigerians, shaa, are some funny hypocrites.

Many followed the BrExit debate and the Palestinian question, even taking sides; buit mention Biafra, and they begin to spew their venom.
You talk about secession, and they begin to talk about war. Now, let me ask you - How many gunshots have you heard go off in the wake of BrExit?
For you to immediately liken secession to war, are you not indirectly saying Nigerians are simply too uncivilized to come together and discuss hard issues?

Many of these Nigerians take sides on BrExit, but support their hero's decision of unilaterally trashing the National Confab results.

Many of these Nigerians tweet #BlackLivesMatter on Twitter; but at the same time, support and justify Onitsha massacre and the killing of Shiites. Ain't it funny?

A sizeable number of these Nigerians are immigrants in civilized countries, enjoying their liberties; but at the same time, support the archaic and primitive human rights violations of their hero in the name of 'fighting corruption'.

Truly, hypocrisy is Nigeria's national ideology. And it is on steroids.

That only happens in the Zoo.
But one day, We must leave this confused country.
In all the history of secession, it had always been the better part that wants to leave, and the worse part would be against it.

I see some "one Nigeria" zombies viewing thread but too ashamed to comment.

Dismembering/restructuring of Nigeria next. If our colonial masters can do it, why can't we? Britain no longer have the moral right to say Nigeria have to stay as one.
All you people equating the EU to the Nigerian situation should do a little research and understand the difference. Nigeria is a federation, the EU is not. At best, the EU is a confederal system. A distinctive feature of federalism is d repudiation of secession. Do u see Texas having a referendum to secede from the US?

I support a united Nigeria but saying biafra agitators are calling for war is false. Have they taken up arms against the state? Despite being shot at peaceful demonstrations. It is the duty of the leader to call for referendum in this kind of situation. If UK PM didn't call for referendum and instead sent soldiers to Edinburgh to intimidate Scottish agitators don't you think Scotland might have taken it to another dangerous confrontation? maybe there would have been unrest in the UK today.
Today, the UK issues have been resolved peaceful without soldiers involved.
Until we can resolve our issues like the UK amicably, we will all suffer both agitators and other sections of the country because there will only be genuine development when there is unity.

yeah and the biggest hypocrites are actually the Igbos. The scream the loudest about wanting out but no group in the country migrates to live in other parts of Nigeria like Igbos do. If you really want out, start by moving back to your lands, no one is stopping you.
You don't see Britons migrating to other parts of Europe in large droves.

It dosen't matter. As long as they have the power to express their mind anyway.
Most people that vote for politicians don't even have concrete reasons for voting. But they are allowed to vote all the same.
They are cerebral enough to express their mind without intimidation.

I think Boris Johnson is a gumless Arrow and UKIP is a racist gathering, but EU was killing UK!

The UK benefits a lot from the EU. Didn't stop their citizens from voting out because they believe they can get a much better deal.
You can kick out igbos from your lands if you have to, just like the EU can restrict british access to the EU market. It dosen't change the fact that referendum has to be done in Nigeria.
