Osun State Deputy governor, Mrs. Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, has said that Gov. Rauf Aregbesola at no time drew salary from the state government since he became governor in 2010.

Mrs. Tomori stated this in Lagos on a talk-show programme on Television Continental, TVC, monitored by our correspondent on Friday.

“Gov. Aregbesola has never received salary as governor. I tried it too but backed out three years after i could not cope. His commissioners and aides are all on half salaries. So also members of the State House of Assembly,” she said in response to question about the state’s civil servants receiving half salary since July 2015.



Extolling the virtues of women, and urging them to join partisan politics, Mrs. Tomori expressed doubts about the allegations of theft, corruption and money laundering leveled against ex-petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

“A woman would not do what Diezani was alleged to have done. And because she is a woman, i don’t believe she did it,” she said.
