Rejection hurts. The fear of rejection keeps many of us from taking the risks that are necessary to get ahead in life. Studies have shown that the one trait that many of the most successful individuals share is the willingness to take risks and accept the consequences, either positive or negative. Without taking risks we stagnate in life. Nowhere is the fear of rejection more painfully obvious than in the way men and women relate. How many potentially wonderful relationships have been nixed before they even had a chance to begin because the man, terrified of potential rejection, failed to act on obvious attraction signals? The harmful urge to quit trying in a vain attempt to never be rejected again is a strong one, but one that should be resisted at all costs.

Avoiding rejection by never taking risks is the wrong way to go. If you are one of those guys who is scared to approach women for this reason, the best thing to do is to learn how to skillfully and tactfully approach women in order to minimize the risk of rejection. Learning to tune your sense to the subtle cues that women give off can help you spot the right opportunities without wasting your time and attention on ladies are truly not interested.
