It's the quickest way for new IGPs and CPs of states to make money once they assume office they withdraw police men from high profile individuals and companies susceptible to attack just for the individuals and Companies to pay homage. Then things go back to normal

It will not be carried out and this is a FACT!

Every time I keep hearing that security details have been withdrawn but yet I still see them in companies and powerful individuals convoys. what kind of withdrawal method is this sef?

The IG was very specific about mobile police only. He added the mobile police unit was not trained to serve as body guards but to attend to emergencies , therefore he cannot sacrifice this arm of police to be used as body guards. Instead he will deploy them where they will be effective.
In his his words, the ban is with immediate effect.

Everytime a new I.G comes, they make decrees that don't last 1 hr.. Remember Onovo and Arase disbanded Police Checkpoints? How did that work out?

Another one banned the use of Sirens by non-emergency vehicles, well the Police is still issuing Siren Permits to individuals and Companies till tomorrow.

The same Police banned Tinted windows and used it to collect money from those of us with factory tinted windows, yet they still grant permits to people to use artificial tinted windows till next year.

Since the Nigerian changed the uniform of SPY Police, I have not seen a single spy Police anywhere..

This withdrawal of Policemen from Private individuals and companies should not even be a matter for discussion, IT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL according to the Nigerian Police act and regulation of 1967.

That is a good move. I hope the powers that be wont force him to rescind it. I remember there was a time an IG(I cant recall which one exactly) did that in the past am not not certain how long it lasted.

What he means is that police that are deployed to unauthorized beats/individuals should be withdrawn immediately,but the ones that are authorized will still stay.He trying to stop corruption in NPF, Naijabet man say so

Former IGP tried to implement this but it didn't work. It was even shortly after that we saw one of the police escorts carrying Dabota Lawson's handbag. I wonder why these people can't hire their own private security, we know they can afford it.

Acting Inspector General of Police IGP, Ibrahim Idris has ordered the withdrawal of all officers attached to individuals and companies.

IGP Idris gave this order at the passing out parade of squadron commanders Operation Course Os/2016, held at the Police Mobile Force Training College, Forest Camp, Ila Orangun,Osun state.

According to him, the force under him would be decisive in dealing with unauthorised deployment, saying men and officers attached to mobile police force working as personal security guards to individuals and companies must immediately be withdrawn.

The police boss further averred “as commanders of the operational arm of the Force, it is of uttermost importance that you display a high sense of professionalism by ensuring that your personnel are appropriately deployed to authorised persons only.

“On this premise, all personnel deployed to unauthorised beats/individuals should be withdrawn immediately.”

Reiterating his plans for training and retraining of officers and men to guarantee maximum productivity, Idris said efforts are on to reclaim Police Training School, Gworza, Borno state seized by the insurgents.
