The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has said the recent deregulation of the downstream sector that led to a rise in fuel price was a painful decision taken by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to save the nation’s economy from total collapse.
Lawal, however, said it was a tough task convincing President Buhari to agree to the price increase.
Lawal spoke on Saturday in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, with newsmen.
The present regime recently gave room for marketers to sell fuel at a margin profitable to them but not higher than N145.

Over time, there has been a drop in the price of the commodity, with some filling stations selling at N133.
Most of the stations, especially government-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, now sell at N140.
But Lawal told newsmen on Saturday it was not easy getting President Buhari to agree to the increase in the price of the commodity.
He said: “It was a very difficult task convincing the President on this.

“The President is always on the side of the masses.
“The President is not easily convinced when additional hardship is placed on the people.”

That's the word - right thinking.

Because some are still living in denial. To them, Buhari is the best thing to happen after the birth of Jesus and revelation of Mohammed.

The truth is that Buhari came and met an already battered economy but the bitter truth is that Buhari is not the kind of leader we need in these trying times because he lacks in depth vision and he thinks in 1D in an economic situation that requires 5D thinking and solutions .. When I voted for him I didn't realise these things but now I know better

Lair!
How come Nnpc stations are selling at #140?
That means even when we start refining all our crude here it wont bring down the price.
Nnpc ought to sell the lowest.
And what happened to kerosine and gas?
