Immunity!?
Who started it, no be dem dem.
Abeg let's restrategize joor, almost every thing from the inception of the fourth Republic had being wrong and self serving....
Immunity for senate president and speaker is an abuse of power/law as they can be there forever which isn't same for the other elective offices with time frame!

Nigerians will take everyone to Court every minute. Nothing will be accomplished. Anarchy will set in. Poor and illiterate Leadership will prevail.

One of the reasons why we have immunity is for the concerned elected individuals to be able to focus on the task that their position demands without the distraction of lawsuits.

The whole Saraki imbroglio actually shows reason why the Senate president and House of reps speakers should also be granted immunity. Why should the leader of the senate be battling a code of conduct trial and at the same time be battling a criminal charge in court? When will he have time to focus on leading the national assembly?

Remember immunity does not mean he goes free. It only means that he won't be called to account until after he has left his position. Dimeji Bankole was still defending himself in court long after he had left the house of reps.

Why should the president and vice president, the number one and number two citizens be granted immunity, then you skip the senate president and house of rep speaker who are number three and four only to then grant governors immunity undecided

The answer to "why" that I know and believed is that Senator can spend as long as his constituent allow him to be coming while executive can only 8years maximum.
thanks.

The immunity clause for governors is not absolute says Falana. It should be same with the President.
Since efcc moved against Fayose irrespective of his immunity, what stops the police from asking Buhari to produce his certificate?
Think before you type next time, Did EFCC arrest Fayose the way they arrest Omisore, FFK, Metuh etc? No they only free suspected account which happen to belong to Fayose. Mind you it is the office Fayose occupy that has immunity and not his bank account, Business, Wife of family member..

Again if FFK, Metuh, Omisore etc happen to be a Governor of state they will also enjoy the same immunity from arrest and prosecution.

I support the no immunity clause for all.

Dino, you guys have the power to correct this anomaly. If there was no immunity clause, clowns like Fayose will be busy picking stones from inside his Prison Dinner beans.

Meanwhile, Dino I have not seen you lately carrying Saraki's Madam's handbag,God forbid somebody SNATCHED that Job from you.

Now go back to the upper Chamber, and do some actual work, instead of trying to act like Ben Bruce who represents the Twitter Constituents in the Upper Chamber.
There will never be immunity for everybody, I just wonder how you guys think sometimes, We are talking about corruption that have swallow our country to stupor and you guys are talking about giving immunity for everybody meaning even Police, Army, Commisioners, etc will have immunity and that will lead to more killing during election as people will be re-contesting and looting so as to be cover by immunity,

What part of "following the constitution" is hard for you to understand?

Those that you hope will amend the immunity clause are themselves benefiting immensely from the same immunity clause.

Please wake up from your sleep cheesy cheesy

Suspension of immunity clause is long overdue. I support the suspension of immunity being enjoyed by the political officers who should be serving the electorate and not ruling.

They are so much drunk with the premise of ruling the populace that our natural resources are technically converted to theirs and managed as a private entity with only their families and associate having the sole right to access the sovereign wealth meant for all and sundry.

Immunity may distract serious minded elected politicians but how many of them are truly serious minded in serving the electorate? Except those that are serious minded in stealing the national treasury blind.
and you guys think that you can win any court case against these bastardly rich and poor hungry judges

What good have the senate president and speaker done to the nation since they became elected? Have they stopped police from stopping people anyhow on the road and collecting 20 naira? have they passed any bill for kidnappers? They're just their like sign posts. To hell with their duties. They're useless, they don't have much time for the nation. They only have time for themselves and time to deceive you gullible Nigerians

They did not deserve it because Senators and MoR can stay as long as they were permitted by their people.
